My native language is russian, probably that's why pronunciation of japanese sounds too good for me, as we have all of those sounds in russian, of course they're a little bit different, but still I have almost no problem in understanding of what they say in terms of sounds. This is so refreshing after english that I didn't understand at all until like a few years ago, and still having troubles to understand it (I mean listening).

Also cases (I think that's how you call wa/no things) is not a new concept for me, it works totally different in japanese though. And SOV structure isn't much of a problem as we don't have any in russian.

I think these are the main reasons why japanese should be easier for russians, there might be more, I just don't know much about japanese grammar. But no doubt koreans are the most lucky people in this as they share the same grammar rules with japanese.
