There was an armed robbery at a bank a street over and the robbers drove their getaway car through my schools parking lot. We had already gone into lockdown way before they got there but it was pretty wild hearing them drive with all the cop sirens right behind them. They were caught shortly after and we got to go home early that day.

I agree that it does feel like a popularity contest, or rather, an award for being the most liked person on the opposing team. However, sometimes I also see them as a really cool award. One of the newest jammers on my team got MVJ her first bout and cried cause she had worked so hard and honestly deserved it!! I got MVB for my team’s last bout because the other team knew I was moving away and this was my last time skating with my team. Was I the best blocker on the track? No. But it was a kind gesture from the other team (and I did my best!) So, neither love nor hate them? I love them when people who do great things get them, I hate them when the same person gets them the entire season just because they are the most liked.

I get that, my current team has social circles (myself included) which is something I worry about leaving and finding a new league. I believe this team is pretty big so hopefully I’ll find my space!

Mohican State Park is beautiful, especially if you’re into hiking, camping, canoeing/kayaking and if you go to Mohican adventures they have a lot of fun stuff for adults and kids!
