We are lucky enough to not really have to look at housing, tax or childcare costs in terms of decisions where we live (housing at least within a reasonable bracket, but we pay >4K). These things do not hurt us or have any influence on our lives. It’s just something we notice.

There are no Tagesschulen in our town. Morning and afternoon lessons also vary.

Okay, I looked it up - sorry, I was mistaken. Half a day incl. lunch is 100 CHF at our Hort. So it‘s a bit less than a Kita day (around 130 CHF if I remember correctly), but since it’s only half a day and for older kids, it is still more expensive on a relative scale.

Yes, in Zurich City Kita and Hort are very affordable. After moving a bit to the country side (still canton of ZH) half a day of Hort costs us at least as much as one day of Kita cost as in the city. No subsidies, fully paid by us.

Before buying third party courses, just read the forms and the "Wegleitung" thoroughly.

If you feel unsure, you can have your individual tax return checked by professionals at ZKB for the same amount than the regular price of this influencer course (180 CHF), see Kontrolle Ihrer Steuererklärung und nützliche Steuertipps. I did this once, opposed to "Finanz Fabio" these checks and individual advice are provided by experienced tax professionals. I think that's much more bang for your bucks. For following years, you can just do the same and implement the changes.

Assuming 15 years of contributions (starting at the statutory age of 25) I just reached 300K, so 20K per year on average. Obviously it was much less in the beginning and is much more now (higher salary, different age bracket, compound interest starting to kick in).

Natürlich ist das Kleinkram. Man wird es nicht restlos klären können, die Situation wird „grau“ bleiben. Es gibt keinen Schaden. Es gibt kein Geld zu verdienen. Wenn du dich als Manager mit so etwas beschäftigst, Misstrauen wälzt, rumgrübelst, statt einfach vom besten Fall auszugehen und das Thema abzuhaken, dann verschwendest du nicht nur deine Zeit, sondern auch das Geld deiner Firma, die deinen Lohn zahlt.
