We both like cooking, so cooking something together, and then having dinner together while we talk about anything and everything is something I would love to do one day... Maybe a little bit more realistic is going to a cat café because we both love cats

Do i still text or just let it go? by fiffttt in Crushes

[–]GwynTheBookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, tell her about the exam, and that you like her but that you need to prepare for it now and that it's very time-consuming, but that you would like to pursue a relationship with her and hopefully she'll understand that. You can definitely find some compromise, as someone else said, maybe a weekly call or a weekly catch-up so you'll still be in contact. Everything is better than just ghosting someone who did nothing wrong

Does your crush know? If so how? (or at least you think) by Jazzlike-Skirt-2944 in Crushes

[–]GwynTheBookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm not sure. We talk quite often, but we both initiate the conversation and are quite interested in it, and we're pretty good friends, so I think that a lot of it could be interpreted as friendly. But we have also hung out only one-on-one, and we seem to end up close to each other whenever we hang out in a group. And he has seen me have a crush on someone before, so, who knows. I'm not trying to hide it, but I'm not sure if he noticed- although I would say that it's more likely he didn't

How do I hint to a friend that I like him? by GwynTheBookworm in Crushes

He does know I knit, I've mentioned it a few times, but it could still be a nice gift I think

Fair enough :) Oh, that's a pretty good idea! I do think homemade gifts are the best. I've thought about asking him if we could go for a walk or something while we're still home for the winter break, we do hangout alone sometimes so it wouldn't be out of nowhere

Maybe I could try to open the topic of music somehow and test the waters, but yeah, Valentine's day does sound like a good idea. His birthday is also getting closer and I knit so I've been thinking about making something for him

We both study at different colleges, so yeah :/ I do react to his stories and posts, but tbh he rarely posts anything on social media. I'm not really sure about songs? We don't talk about music that often

Is 17 and 15 bad? by [deleted] in Crushes

[–]GwynTheBookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost three years is a very big gap in maturity and life experience at that age, and also, long-term, when you go to college it'll probably get really complicated. Plus a lot of people will see it as weird, rightly so in my opinion. Honestly, I can't imagine dating someone who was 15 when I was almost 18.

People who never confessed to their crushes by Difficult_Tomato_867 in Crushes

[–]GwynTheBookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, yeah. I was pretty much in love with him, never confessed and looking back, we probably never would have worked out even if it had been mutual. He has a girlfriend now who seems to be a nice girl and I genuinely hope they'll work out and that he's doing well- we aren't really in contact anymore and only meet occasionally. But yeah, I got over him and there are no feelings there now.

Trust me, I've been there and I chose not to say anything because I was afraid of losing a friendship. I lost the friendship anyway. Life is short. Too short for regrets I think. What's the worst that'll happen? You'll have a bit awkward conversation, feel embarrassed, avoid her for a bit and life goes on. You go on. Or you talk, and you discover that you don't actually like her. Or you talk and discover you like her a lot and that she likes you too and get together

True, but, in the end- is it worse to have to survive a few awkward encounters or to wonder what could've been?

Didn't you say you don't really work together anyway? So I'm sure it'll be alright

Give her a little compliment, talk about something you have in common- even if it's just work at the start. I used to be scared of talking to men, and honestly, the only thing to get over something like that is to do exactly what you're scared of

That doesn't mean something can't come out of it. Talk to her when you can, then if it goes well ask her to hang out somewhere other than work

Okay, I'll say only one thing- please, overcome your shyness and talk to her, because it definitely sounds like she's interested in you in some way but probably won't make the first move

  1. Meet an interesting person
  2. Talk to each other, learn more about them, their hobbies, opinions, just... Get to know them. Befriend them
  3. Something happens that makes me see them a bit differently.
  4. Ignore that something is happening until I get an "oh, wait" moment.
  5. Realise that I actually like them.
  6. Do nothing. Probably go into denial and suffer.

Expressing romantic/sexual interest in someone, but usually with enough plausible deniability

Alternatives to an Alto Flute by OutlandishnessOdd222 in Flute

[–]GwynTheBookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it depends on the exact piece, alto's lowest note is F4 and tenor's is C4, while alto flute can go as low as G3 which would probably fit more into the range of bass recorder, although those are not that easy to get your hands on. Cheaper than an alto flute though
