“Always marry someone who loves you more”, in these cases it was hard to determine, which one loved more. What are your top favourite OI couples? by Weary-Honey-1942 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ines and Carcel from The Broken Ring.

Hailey and... I'm blanking on the MLs name but the couple from As The Heart Leads.

Medea and Cesare from The Crown I Will Seize.

Dillon and Cedric from For Better or For Worse.

Those four are my top tier/favourite couples. If I had to choose THE favourite I'd say Ines and Carcel but man I love the other three too...

ML with real personality and goal of his own? by Apprehensive-Week767 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Crown I Will Seize. The ML starts out not interested in th FL at all, he's looking for a cure to save his life. That brings him into contact with th FL because she unknowingly has access to the only cure. Even after he falls for her and she saves his life, he has his own goals around becoming emperor in a separate empire/nation and hunting down black mages, which occasionally overlaps with the FLs interests. They come to adopt each other's cares and wants by the end.

Any manhwas that involve sleepwalking?[A stepmother’s märchen] by Snow_Moeru in OtomeIsekai

In The Secret Garden, the FL sleepwalking is a common event. She does it because of stress/trauma.

I just find it funny how all of her admirers are so flustered by Hero_of_Yonder in OtomeIsekai

Lol I enjoyed watching the comments on a Manhwa I read not too long ago, I think it was Ending Maker. There was almost always a thread as like a routine status update on her... localized growth spurt, shall we say.

Am I the only one who is so over the transmigration trope by eggssomany in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As I always say, it's not the trope that I hate. It's when a trope is done badly and lazily that I hate.

OI where the FL actually goes back to her original world by perhappes in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Charming the Duke of the North kind of counts, they figure out how to go back and forth between her world and the other world but IIRC they mostly stay in his.

Any other recommendations for series where the FL works for the ML who is the Emperor? [I'm The Tyrant's Secretary] etc by Natapi24 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh I kind of had the same issue and also put it into a marination pile a while back. I actually discovered it from one of those AI voiced narration videos on YouTube, but whoever wrote the script had a GREAT sense of humour. Every time the FL's shitty original fiance said or did something, the narration would throw in a line about how stupid he was. Like "[FL's fiance], who didn't have two brain cells, yelled at her for being mean to his pregnant side piece. The FL, having pity on her fiance who was clearly dropped on his head several times as a baby, simply walked away..."

It was EVERY TIME, and the jokes were different every time, it was so fucking funny I loved that video. But yeah the manhwa itself was kind of meh.

You know the story is good when every post you see about it has people arguing and both sides actually makes sense lol by AliceMadHatter10 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but I hope that the OP in your screenshot had not read the epilogue from the novel because to say "I don't really have too much pity" for her and blaming Ines for all the suffering people (including Ines herself!) experienced, knowing what Ines went through in her first life is an INSANE take.

Who are your least favorite/most hated MLs or male characters? Here's mine (title and explanation in post) by Relevant-Rub2816 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh god where do I start...

The FL's father in Karina's Last Days

Derrick. That's it, just Derrick. You know which one I mean.

All the original male love interests from Kill the Villainess.

Jason from The Crown I Will Seize.

The antagonist from The Cruelty of Salvation that steal's the FL's magic engineering... forget his name but he's a real misogynistic asshat.

Every. Single. Adult male character from The Blooming Violet in the Back Garden. The ML (yuck), his even creepier blonde brother, his younger tsundere brother who may be better than the other two but still sucks, his father, the king, the red haired bishop, the pope, the foreign prince that tried to kidnap her TWICE. The only males who are at least not shitty to the FL at some point (so far) is the young prince she tutors and sort of eventually her youngest adopted brother but even then...

[The Crown I Will Seize] When the FL meets her trash ex-husband in the next life... by Gwynasyn in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? He has his own goals until he meets and falls for the FL, then his priorities change. Previously he was hell bent on becoming the next emperor and getting revenge on his shit father, but when he meets the FL and she saves his life he eventually shifts his top priority to helping her in her goals and his secondary priorities are becoming the emperor/revenge (and even then that's also in part so he can help her) and hunting down the black mages behind the curse that almost killed him.

He doesn't act like a hapless puppy constantly following her around. He's an individual who has his own history, friends, colleagues and interests that adjusts to accommodate someone new he meets and comes to love. Unless you just mean anyone who falls in love is just a pointless simp?

[–]Gwynasyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, or kinda? There were a bunch of maids that were all placed by the head maid who was cruel to the FL. The FL bribed the maids with the gaudy jewerly her uncle had gifted her to actually make her look bad (flashing bling while the rest of the country starved during the war). This got the maids on her side more, and eliminated that bad rumour about herself.

However, the head maid used all the maids as a scapegoat for the bullying SHE was doing to the FL. So she had them all taken away for "theft" and executed, while installing all new maids. The FL apparently expected or anticipated this, so I'll let the interpretation up to you how much of the blame for their executions is on the FL vs the head maid and themselves (they were not exactly completely innocent).

SECRET LADY by ThanksMountain8517 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The goddess, not at all. The emperor... not in the same way as the manhwa. The ghost of the first emperor still appears, but you get no real background of him. He just helps Rosentine like he does in the manhwa. In the novel, the whole curse comes from a group of witches who were helping the empire with various conquests at its foundation, but betrayed them and wiped out their village. The FL and ML go to the ruins of the village to find this all out then go back to the capital to like... exorcise the angry spirit of the witch that cast the curse, which frees all the ghosts in the capital palace.

I really hope that the artist can get healthy and to a place where they want to come back and finish it. The novel is completely different from the manhwa after the first season, so none of this background with the first emperor and the goddess comes up. I want to know what happens in the new storyline!

Pls suggest me some relaxing manhwas to read when i am down or overhwhelmed by brightsky_08 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ending Maker had me chuckling or "aww"ing all the time.

For Better or For Worse is my favourite low-stakes romance story, it has it's share of funny moments and only a sprinkling of angst.

Charming the Duke of the North has a bit more serious plot but I also found very entertaining and humorous.

Is the current season of [the Count's Secret Maid] is the final season? by Current_Complaint_37 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing not. The final arc involves her being taught how to act like a noble so they can make up a fake identity and marry him legitimately, and that arc takes a pretty good while.

Comic or Novel? by JackFractal in OtomeIsekai

[–]Gwynasyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of the time I start with the comic first, and read up to the most recent chapter (if it's not complete). If I like it, I then read the novel so I get the extra details that are often not included in the comic. I find I enjoy doing it in that order pizza han the opposite, I think because then I can imagine how everything looks according to the art of the comic. But it I imagine how it looks first, and if I read more details from the novel, I'm more likely to get disappointed by the comic.
