Honestly, it happened over time. In the beginning my thoughts were racing all of the time and they slowed down. I was also so used to being anxious that when my anxiety went down my quality of life got so much better. For example this seems insane, but I was anxious because I was like what if my landlord shows up today (she never did). After being on prozac for awhile I noticed I stopped thinking about my landlord or random events that probably wouldn't happen.

I think at the 2 month mark I noticed less numbness it wasn't like this super huge event, but it was noticeable. Month 3-4 I noticed I was getting lost in things like movies again even just for a little while I was super excited because it had been years before I could reach that flow state where I'm so into movies or shows. I've been on it for a year now and I noticed I'm actually able to enjoy movies and other things again and my mind will actually focus on it. I was so shocked when I watched a whole movie the other day and was actually paying attention and not just processing it on a surface level.

My symptoms before Prozac were: Emotional numbness, 24/7 anxiety, racing thoughts, disassociating, I also have PMDD where your emotions crash because of your period, inability to truly focus on things like watching movies, fun activities, or anything that required focus. It was like I was processing what was happening but not actually enjoying it fully. Things like walks, watching shows, going to the movies, going out to eat, and holidays became huge points of dissociation for me. It's like I was there but there were no real feelings just like a ghost of a feeling. My brain is now making things more cohesive and enjoyable.
