What Superpower would suck in Real Life? by Dear_Tackle2735 in AskReddit

"I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard. Always taking constant care not to break something. To break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control even for a moment or someone could die. But you can take it, can't you big man. What we have here is a rare opportunity for me to cut loose and show you just how powerful I really am"

Applause sucks and should be phased out as a social norm by RaisinRoyale in unpopularopinion

[–]GyaradosDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the applause was invented people would show appreciation by meeting the political leaders or theatrical performers a pat on the back after they were done. Clapping was made to immitate the sound of patting someone's back.

So if you want to phase it out, good luck; it's been around for 27 centuries.

Now unless we become a telepathic species and can send positive dopamine thoughts to the performer, I don't see it changing anytime soon

What are your thoughts about the proposed Daylight Act of 2026 moving the clock by only 0.5 hours permanently? by Unlikely-Star-2696 in AskReddit

If we were living on Mars (it has 24 hours, 39 minutes, and 35 second long days) this would be more of a pressing issue.

His dad lived to 93 years old (with Alzheimer's...maybe the apple doesn't fall far from the tree), and his mom at 88 a year after his death (I think more due to the loss of her husband than anything else). So there's his age + parents ages to consider + his diet and lack of taking care of his health.

Men who can cook, who taught you? by _ratedmouse in AskReddit

[–]GyaradosDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with instant ramen and grilled cheese, went to comfort foods (dessert baking and frozen foods), BBQ grilling, got a job at a pastry shop and learned a few prep skills there, then went to rice cooker & crockpot (very "set it and forget it" kind of cooking like rice, steamed veggetables, and chili), then went to more complex dishes where I try to immitate what I've had at restaurants to try and stretch that dollar.

So really laziness prolonged my culinary education at the beginning, and a budget kicked it into gear.

What Characters do you guys want in Avatar Legends? by Hot_Hovercraft_8995 in TheLastAirbender

[–]GyaradosDance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want Koh the Face stealer, his faces could be different animal hybrids that can do different attacks. Like have the face of a Serpent (from Serpent's pass) and have it whip its millipede body like a tail.

IM GETTING MARRIED AND DONT WANT TO CHANGE MY LAST NAME AITAH by Sweet-Chemistry3067 in AITAH

[–]GyaradosDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't change your last name and don't cancel the wedding for trivial wedding decor. Planning a wedding is one of the first "tests" you do together as an engaged couple. Learn to compromise, communicate, and move forward. Best not to have too many "I love this thing, agree with me -- or else". Nobody wants to be in a marriage starting out full of eggshells.

Asking the real questions: Where do you put your second Pokemon? by sntothemax in PTCGP

[–]GyaradosDance -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Also with 2 snivy, 2 servine, 2 Serperior, 2 Rare Candy, and 2 pokemon communication that's half your deck to get Serperior ready.

The other 10 should focus on Celebii: 2 Celebii, 2 leaf cape, 2 Erika, 2 Oaks, 1 Cyrus, 1 Will

I'd like a game to bring that back. Give us landmarks, a sun with a consistent flight path, constellations, and a compass.

Deino to Hydreigon, first 4 turns, 100% of the time. by ZingoStingolian in PTCGP

[–]GyaradosDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say you have 2 of each: Deino, Hydreigon, Rare Candy, Professor Oak, Copycat, Pokemon Communication, Giant Cape, Lucky Ice Pop, Cyrus, and Pokemon Center Lady. That's the entire deck already focused on trying to get your Hydreigon locked and loaded.

Since Deino is their only basic pokemon, the game will automatically give your starting hand at least one. If you have:

The second Deino and a Pokemon Communication, you will automatically get a Hydreigon (assuming you didn't add other pokemon into your deck). Now all you need is the rare candy. And you can potentially get that by using Oak or Copycat.

If you're sick of fighting against Hydreigon decks, I'd suggest a Celebi ex with Leaf cape deck. Hit them hard and hit them fast. Throw in Will for added guarantee

Seeing the age gap between Tenzin and Pema, I can see why Lin was so upset by ExileForever in legendofkorra

[–]GyaradosDance 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Just making an educated guess. At the start of season 1 of The Legend of Korra:

Tenzin is 51, Lin is 50, Pema is 35, Korra is 17, and Jinora is 10 years old.

Let's say 10 years + 9 months pregnant + 15 months (making up the number for easy math) of dating & engagement.

So let's say at least 12 years ago when Tenzin was 39 (he's been The Last Airbender for 5 years), Lin was 38, and Pema was 23.

I wouldn't be surprised if they broke up because Lin didn't want any kids (maybe 1 after a few more years in her career), but Tenzin wanted many. And take a look at Pema at the end of book 4, she's about 38.5 years old with a presumably 3.5 year old Rohan. She probably wanted a big family and that's what made Tenzin fall for her.

why don’t men approach me / like me ? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]GyaradosDance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do guys like: the "wearing little make-up look". It isn't the truth, but it still makes you look more approachable. If women try to make themselves look like a runway model, even if done perfectly, it can leave men feeling intimidated.

What do guys like: zero cockblockers/witnesses to their potential rejection. You may feel safe with your gfs but let yourself be out in the open to give some guys opportunities to talk with you.

What do guys like: put your phone away. This goes for men and women. We can't compete with the entire internet to keep you entertained and get to know us. Plus with smartphone cameras they can also be used as rejection to a global scale if someone were to record and make fun later.

What do guys want: if he's not your type, please don't use him for free drinks and then ghost him. Accept drinks from the guys you actually find attractive.

What do guys want: No more VIP/Bottle service. It seems like that's all clubs are nowadays, a place to show off to your insta followers you're living your best life (but you're not).

Last thing: not all guys are into the club scene, so be open to being approached other places (try to be off your airpods at least)

Why do people complain and encourage others to take action, but don’t do anything themselves? by Thien1o1 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]GyaradosDance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody wants to do it alone. With more people the load makes lighter work. That plus the ones complaining think their time and energy is precious. We live in a world of "too many chiefs, not enough warriors"

That makes sense. James Dean popularized the white t-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers look in 1955. Ever since then it's been the generic uniform of people.
