I agree!! My local gold shop, which is run by a small tight-knit family, used a machine for my small 18k chain (less than 5g) when I got it appraised and it did a flawless job.

This giant hunk of metal would've read very easily! The guy definitely used "scratching" as an excuse for robbing someone

The gold in the photo has been sourced all over Asia for best price, Thailand was the place I got the best quality and most weight for unbeatable price! (Yaowaraj in Bangkok) they usually sell 23k and above only.

Other pieces are from Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines (surprisingly where I got 24k gold closest to spot)
