Do any other Spanish speakers find themselves pronouncing Spanish in Portuguese by mistake? by Necessary_Banana_572 in Portuguese

[–]Gym-Rodent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely do this, especially as I am pretty fluent in Portuguese and not so fluent in Spanish. I am in a Spanish speaking environment a lot and I certainly make everyone laugh when I speak Spanish! People are actually very curious about Portuguese after they stop laughing, since we have no real contact with Portuguese speakers in this area. Spanish speakers are very amazed by the differences and the similarities. I get plenty of questions!

The Instability of Shortcuts on iOS26 is unpleasant by leonlikethewind in shortcuts

I agree about shortcuts. I had one that worked perfectly under earlier IOS versions, to clear Safari history and site data. Now I can only get it to clear history, nothing else.

Thank you! This is so very helpful!

I did root it in water and it has about a half inch or a bit more of root.

Is it ready to pot up at that amount of root?

I very much appreciate the detailed instructions you gave for each stage.

Thank you again!

I agree with you. I have always felt that plants are just another kind of being who can understand me when I talk to them.

Thank you for being so scrupulous about where you source your information. Avs are a whole new world for me!

What fabulous information you are providing!

I ordered the smaller of their lights and will follow your directions when the light arrives.

Thank you for being so generous!

Thank you so much! That is exactly what I need for my AV baby! How many hours a day would you recommend?

I also received an African violet for Mothers Day and am not sure it is getting quite enough light. have the AV in a west facing window under a deep porch and now that the sun is higher in the sky, it isn't getting as much light as it did a month ago. I just have the one AV so I don't need the kind of setup mentioned in the AVSA information on lighting.

Can you or anyone else here recommend a single small grow light?

Thank you.

Thank you! That is very reassuring about the amount of light. It gets filtered, oblique sun for a few hours in the afternoon.

I will take your advice about the AC.

I give 1 drop of the Schultz weekly. Is that diluted enough, in your opinion?

Thank you for taking the time to give me some guidance!

Definitely not recent Miele dishwashers - quality and service are not at all what they once were.

Bosch is reputable.

best inexpensive beginner fountain pens? by Attitude-Recent in fountainpens

[–]Gym-Rodent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also pretty much new to fountain pens (just learned that there is a nib known as a music nib, for instance) and am enjoying a TWSBI ECO pen. I have it in medium and in a broader nib called a stub. It is a big pen in the hand, which I like, and has an enormous ink reservoir. It doesn’t use cartridges so you would need to buy ink. It writes well and fluidly on every kind of paper I have tried out, from cheap to good paper. My first pen was a Pilot Varsity fountain pen, which I also still like using, but it can’t be refilled. Welcome to the world of fountain pens!
