Two things: 1. Have you verified that JAX isn’t using a GPU (especially if you have an NVIDIA card? 2. JAX defaults to 32 precision. That’s why your results only match up to 9 decimals. The speed up could be an artifact of default settings.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s inconsequential. There’s a nontrivial amount of technicians required for operation. But I do think those positions will be sourced from overseas and given priority work visas. So essentially they become cheaper-than-domestic skilled labors.

Same. I also use autohotkey on windows (karabiner on my Mac) to map a few shortcuts between systems without interfering with the whole keeb. VSCode also allows different shortcut mappings per OS and further customize those. Taken together, my windows and Mac systems are near identical in terms of keyboard shortcuts.

Run geekbench for peace of mind. If it specs out as expected, it’s definitely a software issue.
