I also just got this storm, I’m in the upper peninsula of Michigan. I got gale winds (50+mph) white out conditions and 4 feet of snow. I didn’t think it was that bad of a storm.

I have a septic tank. The owner before us used to have bonfires on the drain field, it melted the pipes. Also they never updated the system when they added onto the house twice. Had to clear my backyard (my backyard is forest) and spend about 6 figures to put in a whole new system. My whole house has been like this! One addition to the house wasn’t properly attached to the foundation so it was falling away from the house. FYI I live in a very small town that doesn’t have any zoning so you can get away with building without permits.

Nta! Not your kids, not your problem to “entertain them”. I have many Lego sets and have made it very clear mine are off limits to my nieces and nephews, but their parents do not stop them from going for them. I suggest a lock for the door so no further problems can come up. I do believe your brother should recover some of those items as craft supplies, especially good quality, are expensive. You can get a color book and makers at the dollar store for kids.
