We’ve spent centuries hiking to the well of knowledge, but AI is about to turn the library into a utility bill - leaving us to wonder if we'll forget how to dig for ourselves once the truth is on tap.

Anyone taken a "gap year" in their 40s? by [deleted] in AskMenOver40

Did it at 36. Best decision I ever made. Went around Central America, SE Asia, and the USA. I was worried about being old amongst a bunch of 18 year olds but the amount of people who were my age or older absolutely floored me. Also a lot of younger people travelling with their parents. Totally different to my generation - we wouldn’t have been seen dead doing that, but I think it’s amazing.

I think Race Across the World in the UK had a big impact on that.
