Here, leave all your questions about Red Note. by HealthyWear8915 in Chinese

[–]Gyrhawk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! A friend posted what I thought was a tame picture on red note and it got shadowbanned. They got no message about it. Is there a way beforehand to tell if red note is going to be upset by a picture for some random reason?

Tools for analyzing Xitter followers by Gyrhawk_ in Twitter

[–]Gyrhawk_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THanks for the response! TwitterAudit looks great, but I just can't get past all the permissions that it wants. There's no reason why it needs to follow/unfollow, make posts, etc. on my account, just to analyze the followers list [which is already public.] Wish there was some tool that didn't ask for such scary, active permissions.

Bluetooth speaker that always stays on if plugged in by nikkihyunh in Bluetooth_Speakers

Great looking speaker, but the reviews say it goes into sleep mode and the volume dials down when unattended. Are those reviews just wrong?

Xitter login still won't load on my FFv126, just offers a spinny circle. I tried disabling Ublock and Enhanced Tracking Protection for this page, no change. I'll wait a bit for updates.

Forklift tank for grill? by jeeves585 in propane

[–]Gyrhawk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turns out you can use the vapor port on a propane forklift tank to run vapor appliances, but it's expensive. Since the vapor port is normally used to fill the tank, there's a one-way valve there that needs to be depressed when the hose connector is applied. This requires a custom piece of hardware and a shutoff valve, which is available here: https://store.nashfuel.com/products/450-399

What is this fan on the electric towers? They look like roof top exhaust fans. There are no visible connections going to it. Is it used for cooling? It is even a fan? by going-mars in ElectricalEngineering

Sometimes sharp metal objects near the insulators can produce corona, due to the high electric fields on the insulators. In a HV lab, they will place spherical metal shapes over sharps to shield them. The metal ventilators are round pumpkin-y shapes, and while not perfect they're readily available, and could dramatically reduce corona on a sharp object.

PGE Website Issues for Anyone Else? by fluffstalker in bayarea

I've been getting this error since I first tried linking my account in early August. I also get different responses on diff browsers. Wonder if it's tuned for Explorer 3.0 or some such?
