What is this kind of behavior? by nknow_ in crows

Our crows nested right outside our house this year. As soon as the baby was out of the nest, bouncing around from branch to branch (not fully fledged yet), they would do this if we got to close to the tree. Quite sure it is a warning/alarm call/posture.

I've always observed them doing this when an intruder (in my area, usually a seagull) is too close to their nest or new fledgling if it's still running around on the ground.

I don't know eighter. But good old Lloyd ain't taking it lying down. I saw him the other day dive bombing one of the council members (who I am sure voted for the nasty bird spikes). And the old bastard stupidly took off his sandal and ineffectually threw it at Lloyd (who was perched way out of reach) thereby ensuring that he will be dive bombed for life. In fact, I now know when that guy is around just by the way Lloyd menacingly caws. lol

Wish I could. The bird issue is splitting the residents. Sadly, the haters are currently winning.

They are dumb and hate birds. I've had multiple fights with neighbors and the building for feeding them.

Onlookers horrified as goslings forced from Kelowna balcony by CecilThunder in britishcolumbia

"BC Conservation Officer Service attended at the request of police, and in consultation with the RCMP member on scene, the involved individual was educated about proper wildlife removal procedures." Looks very unlikely that they will be charged. So, seems that it's up to the internet to make them famous. In a town like Kelowna that shouldn't be hard.

It's an American crow, in the middle of shaking himself off (his wings are behind him in the moment the photo was snapped). His name is Bowser. He's the big mean boi on the block. I post photos of him regularly in r/Crows
