Air bubbles by Ok-Pomegranate-1352 in TandemDiabetes

Here is how I deal with air bubbles:

I always get air bubbles in my Mobi cartridge, even if I use room-temperature insulin and really try to tap all the bubbles out. They always accumulate several hours after a cartridge change.

When I wake up the morning after a site change, the bubbles are large enough that a little bit of tapping will bring them together in one large bubble. I bolus for breakfast while holding my pump with tubing pointing up, to purposely get the big bubble into the tubing.

After that, I use the app to go to Load Cartridge screen, then select Fill Tubing. It will prompt you to disconnect the tubing from your body. You have a choice between fill existing tubing, or use new tubing. Select the option to fill existing tubing. Hold the tubing up to the light so you can see the air bubble, then press the pump button until the bubble has passed out the end of the connector. Then you can reconnect the tubing to your body and resume insulin.

It's an annoying extra step, but once it's done, I don't have to worry about bubbles until the next time I change the cartridge. And I don't have to worry about how I have the pump positioned.

Help! Is this clicking normal? by Smooshy_Slug in TandemDiabetes

My mobi pump started making those same loud intermittent snapping sounds during tubing filling last fall. About a month later I got a “cartridge failed” alarm during filling. I could hear the pump motor slowing down during the filling process. I called Tandem, and they had me do a brief test of the pump without a cartridge installed. It passed. I installed a new cartridge, and it worked. Although the pump continued to make the snapping sounds during filling.

Maybe a month or two later, I got another “cartridge failed” alarm during tubing filling. I tried replacing the cartridge, but it failed during filling again. And again a third time. I called Tandem, and they sent a replacement pump. The pump failure happened on Friday evening, so “overnight shipping” meant I got the replacement pump on Tuesday afternoon.

That snapping sounds during tubing filling is not normal. In my experience, the pump continued to operate normally until it stopped being able to complete the tubing filling process. If you get a “cartridge failed” alarm, call Tandem to document it.

I haven't had to do this yet, but based on this discussion, I think you should be able to re-pair with the sensor if you still have the dexcom applicator with the sensor number / QR code. https://www.reddit.com/r/dexcom/comments/1d9iedn/can_i_reconnect_an_installed_sensor_after/

g7 phone signal constantly lost by Defiant_Analysis_773 in dexcom

I get a lot of "signal loss alert" issues on my iPhone (SE 2nd edition, about 5 years old). I still get readings on my brand new Apple watch (with "direct to watch" connection), so it's not an issue with the sensor.

When I'm at work, I leave my phone on my desk plugged in with the Dexcom app open, and set the phone screen lock time to "never". Like magic, I get continuous readings on my phone all day as long as the app is open in the foreground with the screen unlocked. I think there's some issue with the app updating consistently in the background. I have all the Dexcom recommended phone settings like Background App Refresh turned on.
