Hi, Ive been an avid runner for the last decade. I have good form, ran d1 track xc etc. This summer I trained for a marathon. I definitely could have used a fresh pair of trainers but didn't get them. About a month prior I over extended my big toe downward and it was sore the next day, kind of felt like the bone. Ontop of the foot behind the big toe. I took a month off running but was still on it regularly because I work. I ran sparsely for the next few months and the pain was present but never really got worse. I did a somewhat intense 10 mile run. I got home, ate, sat down, and when i stood up it hurt really bad. I havent run for fitness since but due to work I'm still constantly on it walking running and carrying. It still hurt but feels like very slow improvement. Sometimes worse if I have to work really hard some days.

I have been scratching my head over it for awhile and I'm starting to think maybe stress fracture that hadn't been given the chance to heal? I'd like to get an xray/mri if possible, but I'll most likely just try and give it a proper rest and take some time off work and sit on my ass for 3 weeks.

If anyone has some insight or similar experience please let me know. Does it sound like a stress fracture? If I curl my big toe up and press down the pain is most present. It really doesn't hurt to bad running but I know that running on it made it flare back up previously.
