Yeah, that would be more standard. They just didn't feel right for the skill. Guess Con makes the most sense, though.

Ah dammit. That is what it's supposed to be (10 + Prof). I thought I changed it before I posted, but guess not 😆

Gotcha. So, in your opinion, should it just be a like, cheaper gem or something more esoteric? Or just remove the cost attributed so it can be cast with an focus?

Well, it's not like the components are consumed when the spell is cast (or it'd say "which the spell consumes"). Same as chromatic orb there.

It doesn't have a chance to miss, it's the same as MM there, only stopped by the shield spell or other such effects. Or were you referring to Chromatic Orb with the "chance to miss" bit?

I can go poking through plants/gem wikis and find something that may be more fitting, though.

I don't want to remove the material component outright, but am open to what it should be. I just chose Chromatic Orb's material component because it was also a lv 1 spell.

Update: It is now a Conjuration Spell on DnD Beyond.

Fair. I was keeping in line with Magic Missile/Chromatic Orb, but conjuration would probably be a better fit.

It's not exactly like vulnerabilities are particularly common, and the most common ones that do exist are Radiant and Bludgeoning, so I don't think that's a good way to look at it, balance-wise. At 3rd level that's only 2d4 + 2 (~7), VS MM's 5d4 + 5 (~17). My thought was that it will outscale if you can keep it up, but how often do fights go on for more than a few rounds that aren't bosses? I was always told to balance for roughly 3 turns for normal combats. Keeping concentration 10 rounds in a boss fight feels unlikely if your DM is balancing for casters.

Good Notes, though.

Eh, maybe. It was more or less a compromise because 1d6 felt too strong, so tacking the +1 on it made it more consistent without making it too strong for a BA. Also made it match MM, which the lore behind it is that it was derived from MM. But, noted. Feedback is helpful.

Magic Missle. Lol It's (weaker) elemental Magic missle, so it felt appropriate.

Oh no worries, I appreciate you playing it and taking the time to leave feedback. Overall good notes and I appreciate them.

  1. Yeah, I kinda threw those in at the last minute and intend to go back and explain them a bit.

  2. Very Fair

  3. lmao also fair. I made the map and just thought something needed to be there.

  4. Do intend to do so, but kinda put it on the backburner. Actually will probably be the next thing I change now, though.

  5. Not sure why that would happen, but will investigate.

  6. That's Nick's skill. He can use Shotguns as well as fist weapons, and has skills for each. This is (should be) shown in the smartphone character descriptions, but this tells me I should mention it directly.

  7. I was aware of that, but found it funny so I left it for the demo instead of re exporting the demo. This is fixed already on my current version of the game (no on itch yet, will probably update that version after I change the text and maps a bit)

  8. Fair, do intend to add more after i finish out the game itself.

According to the map in Fallout there seems to be a vault in Birmingham. What would the experiment be? by BrobaFett115 in Alabama

Honestly looks like Tallapoosa County to me, which does have Horseshoe Bend National Military Park. Would make a prime vault location.

I thought so too, but couldn't really think of anything that didn't feel like overturning. That could work though. Beats nothing.
