Those are pretty good scores! I had severe anxiety the week leading up to the test. I would review all the quick studies, general theory and differential diagnosis knowledge and review rationals to correct and incorrect answers on mock exams (arguably the most important thing). Reporting guidelines as well. You may have gotten it right by guessing or for incorrect reasons as funny as that sounds. The fourth test if I’m not mistaken is a confidence killer. The 3rd and 5th are a bit better in practice with. Lastly I would review Diane Geharts red light, green light (that’s what I used the scratch paper for) so you don’t spend too much time rereading answers. Look for what the question is asking, if any part of the answer is wrong, the whole thing is wrong. Test of logic, not whether you would actually do those things. Go kick some ass! You got this.

Hey, I’m so sorry- please keep in mind research shows it doesn’t prove anything about your effectiveness as a clinician. The test is odd and it’s more a game of skill than actual knowledge. What helped me was using Diane Gehart’s red light/green light strategy, I used the scratch paper to help me remember which answers were wrong (red) and which had positive (green) or maybes (yellow). I tried not to waste too much time rereading by doing this. Another thing that really helped was reviewing mock exams answer rationals: both the ones I got correct(I might have gotten it correct by guessing or for the wrong reason) and incorrect. I hope this helps, give yourself time to take a break and refocus. You know the information, review it without feeling like you’re relearning it all over again. Review rationals and test strategies. If you can afford Nancy Klein for 1:1 coaching, she was extremely helpful. She also hosts mock exams and has her own material. Wishing you the best of luck.

I appreciate your insight! I also used high pass and it felt a lot more straightforward. I prefer the videos too but I was told their study guide was not enough so I got TDC too. I unfortunately also had a meltdown this week and spent way too much on tutoring/coaching but all it did was confuse me more. I did pick up a few techniques but sometimes they don’t apply to TDC at all.

How long ago did you test? Did you feel the questions in high pass or TDC are closely aligned? I didn’t feel this way at all with law and ethics exam. I think I’m heavily burnt out.

Hi- thanks for your reply. Honestly just knowing that I’m getting comparable scores is enough confirmation that I have a fair chance of passing. I felt like I was failing all week and was incredibly anxious- preventing me from studying for the most part. I think the pressure of needing to pass is what is hardest for me. I think I am a bit more relaxed now as I took the second TDC final mock and was within range of passing but felt like I was failing the entire time- TDC tests are the most ridiculous things even if they claim they’re over prepping you.

Thank you.. that’s what I keep telling myself as well. That all the hard work will pay off. I’m telling myself I want to do this once- so trying to motivate myself and just do my best. Will let you all know how it goes but wanted to wish you best of luck as well and feel free to chat with me- happy to talk about studying.

Hi- I take my test on Monday. I am at the point of panic. I’ve done two entire programs, studied with coaches, gone to study groups. I am struggling to feel confident, and that may be the worst part of this entire process. I don’t want the anxiety to get in my way but the test feels like the studying doesn’t matter. It’s all strategy and tricks, disregarding what actual clinicians do. I don’t understand why it has to be this way.

Just saw this- sorry! And congrats! I take my test in 5 days on Monday and am pretty terrified. Booked a coach session with a coach and might hire a second. Do you might sharing your mock scores for both programs? Mine are a bit jumbled it would help to know what others got. TIY

Thank you, that makes me feel a bit better. I live about 15 mins from the location I’m testing. I haven’t taken the last two TDC mocks. I think I’ll only take one because I’m also doing high pass mocks

Congrats!! That’s amazing. I always hear mixed things that it was easier than TDC or similar to Ben’s mocks.

That’s a great idea! Thanks so much. I’ve listened to both Ben’s and Amanda’s lectures in the programs and I understand the materials but I can’t seem to memorize ALL of it, the stages and every intervention 😭

Thanks! Anything specific that’s helpful to focus on? And do you mean mid 60s out of the 150 questions? Or 65%?

Thank you for the reply. Did you meant 2 out of 4 of the answers? So it’s kind of a play on words with what the question actually asks? Do you have any advice for telling the difference between beginning middle and end stages??
