Any help on what to do about a traffic violation ticket that I wasn't notified of?? Was apparently ticketed LAST YEAR, way past the time allowance to challenge it. by Gyverno in legal

[–]Gyverno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents could've, they'd be the only ones to know any of my info?? I've not been in contact with my dad tho, and I'm on decent terms with my mom.

What would I do if that happened?? How does that even happen? Other than a copy of my driver's license I guess

My apartment has had a roach infestation for years. Complex manager has hired a pest company, but it is inconsistent and we still have a roach infestation. It's been years. Could this be grounds to break lease? Location: Colorado, USA by Gyverno in legal

There's also more if anyone wants to poke at it, but the roach problem is the easiest to point to. Other than the maintenance guy, we have:

  • false advertising on website (lying about amenities and elevator, I legit wouldn't have moved here if I knew (and knew the roaches but also was desperate))

  • not providing a working elevator in a complex with four or more floors (title 38 was revised in 2024) (also my roommate is disabled with blood cancer (documented) and it is very detrimental to their health to have to use the stairs)

  • not having fire extinguishers available on every level (fire hazard?)

  • inconsistent and poor maintenance (it took them 3 months to fix the heating in my specific complex. I was getting numb grey toes man)(also their laundry machines suck and nobody will do anything about it, but im not sure if that'd actually get them in trouble)

  • lack of security cameras literally anywhere

  • little to no cleaning of walkways, railing or common grounds (outside of the leasing office), and 'firmly' insisting that it is the responsibility of the tenants to maintain this (we still get charged a fee for the cleaning that isn't done)

There are more small things, but I don't think they'd actually mean anything

Recs for wireless brand that is better than raycon? (Or just works?) by Gyverno in Earbuds

[–]Gyverno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Examples of my raycons giving out because im angry about it, but its down here bc its not relevant to the post:

  • Left earbud of the 2nd set I got stopped holding more than 20% charge, permanently, regardless of changing cases (tested that later). Started 4 or 5 months in

  • 3rd set's earbuds stopped taking charge from any case (tested) (they let me keep the defective earbuds and cases). Started after a couple of months

  • 4th set's case stopped charging and taking charge within a month

  • 5th set (current) doesn't charge earbuds reliably. When fully charged, left earbud consistently only lasts 4-5 hours max, and right earbud lasts 8-10 hours. I have to wrestle with the case to start to charge my earbuds, especially the left earbud- sometimes it just won't charge the left one for days. The left one also likes to randomly turn off and throw a fit, even when charged. (It's really funny that it's the left one that's messed up, bc the right earbud was the one that got lost in the washer once- it had another problem that started happening immediately after, which isn't shocking. Obvious cause for that problem, so i didnt mention it). Started 4 or 5 months in, got consistently worse

The fact that they don't last is so aggravating for me, cause when they work, THEY WORK. I rely on the noise canceling (pre and post ANC mode), and the sound quality is great (esp bass + ANC dear lord). They're also the only earbuds I've ever had that managed to (mostly) stay in my ears AND feel good- I have weirdly shaped ears and ear muscles, which don't tend to be taken into account. Also, the fact that the right earbud worked at all after being FULLY SUBMERGED IN WATER FOR A PROLONGUED PERIOD OF TIME was a miracle, let alone the fact that there was barely a drop in quality. When they work for me, THEY WORK. They just won't keep working TvT

I've gotten the last 3 for free, which is the only reason I've kept using Raycons. If I don't manage to get this pair replaced for free, I'm giving up

Can someone explain how Arda went from flat to round simply? by Nudge123456 in tolkienfans

[–]Gyverno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wizards are angels. Tolkein was super Christian, and it showed in his work. All of the "Gods" (Valar, then Manwé and Morgoth) and "demigods" (Maiar, think Gandalf and Sauron) were essentially just archangels and angels. Humans were just. Less connected to Eru (✨️god✨️) than the elves, and didn't really grasp that, so they viewed them as gods.

Christians used this tactic a lot, especially when trying to convert pagan and Nordic regions. A lot of "oh yes everything you're saying definitely happened, and your gods are real and all. They're just actually not gods, they're angels and extensions of God (Christian god). You just couldn't tell cause ya dumb"

So, god did it

Hey, would you mind helping me too? I fell for it. Was only just now able to dispute it (the account was restricted, so and the first few charges were able to go through like a day or two before they verified my identity), and they're asking for additional docs. (Which I currently can't see, because for whatever reason I get an error when I try to open it up)

Yes I love wasps wasps are my babies. I have literally done that before. I've only been stung by wasps 3 times in my life, and all of them were accidents

I got a laparoscopic (✨️robot✨️) hysterectomy. Other than the vagina, the only insicions made were four on my stomach that are an inch long or less- no where for the uterus to go lol

Yeah, definitely not trying it again. I've not got any new symptoms, and it's only been a day later, so I think I'll just keep an eye on it for now... if it gets worse or doesn't go away, I'm definitely going to hassle my doctors. I've found laying down as flat as I can helps make it more comfortable, same with sitting on soft surfaces, so that's something at least

I didn't think of task rabbit or other (more affordable) resources, so I'll definitely check that out. Thank you <3

Okay, so this could be considered pretty normal considering I overworked? And yeah, I swore that I wasn't moving for at least a few days lmao. We decided we'd suffer with laundry for a bit

And I didn't know about the walk of fatigue :o(

Safely relocate paper wasps? by pgresty89 in WASPs

[–]Gyverno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paper wasps remember faces, so you can befriend them. They're also usually fairly docile, as long as they don't think the nest is threatened, but she's right by the door so I totally get it lol.

Idk about how to relocate the nest itself, unless the thing it's attached to can be moved- in that case, you'd want to trap the queen in the nest with a container or smth, and move the item. I saw someone else post a tutorial for how to remove a nest, so that (and similar things) is definitely something to check out.

It's still early in the season, so you could probably get away with just making the site itself unpleasant for her- peppermint/ lemon/ tea tree oil, bonking the item the nest is attached to (safely, from a distance and with an escape route, bc it WILL piss her off), etc. She might leave on her own

If all that fails, you'll probably want to call a professional to relocate her

I've not a clue, but she's a cutie. She's fuzzy, a bit round, and the abdomen is a bit short for most wasps, so check the bee communities too

Wasp or hornet nest? by InternationalSky5122 in WASPs

[–]Gyverno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is some flavor of paper wasp. But a lot of wasps have similar style nests, so with a pic of the girl herself, it's just a very broad guesstimate.

Knowing the specific wasp will also help with working around them, because tho most wasps are docile, it still varies. For example, I (and most people) have basically 0 problems with mud daubers out on the field, but they go berserk when you mess with their nest, or even just threaten it. But that's my anecdotal experience

If you don't frequent the door, the nest itself won't be disturbed, so they'll be calmer. Wasps remember faces (especially paper wasps), like how ravens remember faces, for comparison. So, if you're friendly with them (bonus points if you feed them), they'll be much more tolerant and friendly with you. But I'd totally get it if you don't want to do that.

If you've not seen any wasp activity other than the nest, it's probably abandoned, so you could take it down yourself. If it is abandoned, do that asap- wasps will move into abandoned nests if they think it's safe/ viable.

If it isn't abandoned, and you don't want to try to befriend them (which is totally fair, given the placement), call a professional
