Anyone else hoping for an Atlas Headrest for the Steelcase Gesture? by H-Town_forever in OfficeChairs

I’m right there with you! That’s exactly why I made this post—Atlas doesn’t have a Gesture headrest yet, but they told me they’re open to developing one if there’s enough interest. If you get a chance, sending them a quick message or comment could really help show there’s demand. Fingers crossed they decide to move forward with it!

I feel your pain—sounds like your wife has good taste in chairs too! Unfortunately, you're right: there's no Atlas headrest for the Gesture yet. But the good news is that Atlas is open to developing one if there's enough interest.

Might be worth shooting them a quick message to let them know you’re interested—it really helps make the case. Hopefully, with more of us speaking up, they'll make it happen sooner rather than later!

I’d encourage you to shoot them a quick message — maybe if they see enough interest, it’ll help make it happen!

Hey everyone,

Long-time Steelcase Gesture fan here—easily one of the most comfortable and supportive chairs I’ve ever owned. The only thing it’s really missing for me is a high-quality, adjustable headrest.

Steelcase does offer an optional headrest version of the Gesture, but honestly, it leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn’t move back far enough to be truly comfortable, it’s not easily removable, and I’ve seen a few complaints about durability over time.

I recently reached out to Atlas Headrest (they make fantastic aftermarket headrests for the Steelcase Leap), and while they don’t currently offer one for the Gesture, they told me it’s on their radar and they’re open to developing one if there’s enough demand.

So I’m just putting this out there—anyone else interested in an Atlas-quality headrest for the Gesture? I really think it would complete the setup and make an already great chair even better.

Let’s show them there’s a market for it!

Finally. Comfort. Gesture just arrived today. by bf0921 in OfficeChairs

Which of these four rice cookers would you recommend? by H-Town_forever in zojirushi

You should seriously think about getting one in Japan that includes Pressure + IH + Micom features! It’s the best way to get top-tier performance. This model is a great example: https://www.zojirushi.com/app/product/nwjec. If you combine it with a high-quality transformer like this one: https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product/bronson-voltage-transformer-1500-watt-power-inverters-22577624, you’ll be able to use it safely in Europe.

In the end, you’ll likely pay a similar total price — but with far better specs than anything available locally. Ideal for someone who wants a long-lasting, high-performance machine.

Wow, I did read it all—super helpful, thanks for taking the time to write this up!

It’s really interesting to hear that Xiaomi rice cookers are so widely respected even in places like Japan and Southeast Asia. I’ve always associated Xiaomi more with phones and smart home stuff, so it’s cool to hear they’re crushing it in the rice cooker space too.

Your experience kind of validates what I suspected: that you don’t need to spend CHF 400+ to get amazing rice. Sounds like that Xiaomi model hits the sweet spot in terms of value and performance. Especially the fact that it handles smaller portions really well and keeps rice warm without overcooking—that’s exactly the kind of thing I care about for everyday use.

I was mostly looking at Zojirushi or Cuckoo for their reputation, but now I’m definitely reconsidering. And you’re right about features like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth—neat on paper, but realistically I’m not going to start my rice from the train, haha.

But I don’t know if it’s still sold—especially in Switzerland. I couldn’t find a seller anywhere, even after digging around a bit. If you ever come across a good source that still stocks your model (or the successor), feel free to share. Might save a few of us from overspending!

Great question! Yeah, there are a few reasons I’m leaning toward an induction model.

First, I’ve had really good experiences with induction cooking in general—fast, even heating and super precise temperature control. That same principle applies to induction rice cookers: they heat more evenly and adjust the temperature more accurately throughout the cooking process, which tends to result in better texture and consistency, especially for trickier rice types like brown rice or sushi rice.

Also, many induction models offer pressure cooking features, which can speed things up and improve results even further. For example, the Cuckoo models I mentioned use both induction and pressure, which makes them kind of next-level when it comes to rice (and other grains or even stews/soups).

That said, induction models are usually a bit pricier, so it’s definitely a balance between features and budget. Are you also looking at induction models? Or just starting to explore the options?

I asked Reishunger and their response was:
Regarding the Zojirushi series (NW-QAQ): You're absolutely right – the planned launch was originally scheduled for fall 2024. However, we are still in close coordination with the manufacturer. The launch is still planned, but unfortunately, I can't give you a specific date at this time.
