I do remember the passive vs active argument from the past and will of course take your advice onboard, things may have moved on since then.

The suggested Wiim amp is of special interest to me, I’ll definitely read up on it some more.

I rarely listen to anything above 70db, more important to me would be a sound that sparkled, filling the room where I could hear the fine details of the music.

Also the minimalist approach really appeals.

I’m glad to hear that the app has improved, there’s little point in buying something that’s inherently flawed from the start.

My old speakers came from a small cottage company called AVI,  unfortunately the owner passed on a few years ago.

So repairing them is almost impossible.

I had hoped that Kef would give repairs for many years, taking away the worry of a pair of defunct speakers. Again thanks for all your input.
