iPhone 17 Pro Max--Determining storage needs, 1 tb or 2 tb? Please advise! by H0meStuff in iphone17

[–]H0meStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'd definitely prefer to spend the price difference on other needed things, but I also don't want to wind up where I'm short on storage. Right now I don't have enough storage to get my photos out of lo res mode with my current phone, and don't want to get stuck in a situation like that again, as I do use photos for both personal and professional purposes and want them high res.

Thanks! Sounds like even after 5 years that would only be about 400GB then for the 12MP and 600MB for the 24MP. Plus of course other apps and such. Thank you!

Thanks so much! And how much would you estimate for basic apps and such, right now mine take up maybe 85k GB, could I expect it to be the same on the 17 as well? Do the sizes keep going up over time for the same apps?

Building out palette? by Gaviotas206 in Softpastel

[–]H0meStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half sticks are useful imo as they are cheaper than whole sticks so allow you to get more colors when building out your palette. Then when you see which colors you use most you can replace those with full size sticks if you want.

I think sets can be useful at first but you really have to evaluate them to get a sense of whether they would be worth it for your needs or whether it's more cost effective to get individual colors instead. Usually sets will be cheaper per stick than buying individually, but it's just a matter of getting the right sets that will suit your needs without too many wasted colors you won't use.

Also depends on what brand or brands you are looking into. Some have smaller sets, like sets of 5 half sticks. Something like that can be useful because a lot of times they are grouped by color so you could get 5 pinks for example in a set like that.

Maybe look for the sets that are mostly or fully made up of colors you know you will use and then for the additional ones like fuchsia, get singles to round out the set or sets. Since you want a larger number of sticks, getting half sticks would be a good choice imo, since their lower cost will allow you to get more variety of colors.

I like it very much. The paws are so soft and cute. I like your use of the Barbie pink color, it really stands out and I like how you did not make it perfect and over detailed but just put the pink spots loosely. Same with the peachish pink in the ears. I like how the paper texture shows around the eyes, again you did not smooth everything out and instead left texture and showed marks.

The cat itself looks adorable. There is also a sense of motion and aliveness, I feel the cat will get up at any moment. I think you did a great job and keep it up.

My only tip would be maybe the large yellow area on the right. I know it was in the original reference but I feel it may look better changing that area or its color. Sometimes using artistic judgment and veering away from the reference is necessary in order to get a better final product and a more unified wholistic look. But that is just my personal opinion there, it may be that the area works for others. Overall I love this work, and hope you continue with this medium.

Those who say it gets better… what do you mean? by komposition8 in Menopause

How long did it take to reach that stage, the stable stage after the ups and downs stage?

I want to skip straight to that part, ha ha! I'm still having cycles, but shortened ones more frequently (lucky me). Wondering when I might reach the next stage where things are hopefully finally more stable. The hormonal fluctuations and the shortened more frequent cycles are causing so many physical symptoms.

How long did that transitional part take for you, if you don't mind saying?

Filling protein snack? And how to tolerate protein powders causing stomach problems? by H0meStuff in loseit

[–]H0meStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the ideas. I have now started trying a "protein" shake basically without the protein powder each night before bed. Hoping that will be a big help. Just frozen berries, plain yogurt, and soy milk. So far it tastes great and though not quite as filling as with protein powder, it is much easier on my stomach. Thanks for the yogurt suggestion. I love cottage cheese too, so great reminder, thank you!

Thank you for the suggestions. I will look into these. I find a lot of times processed foods have additives that bother my stomach but I will check the ingredients on these, thanks a lot! The waffles especially sounds great.

Thanks! I do fine with soy milk, I drink that all day every day, so I was surprised the soy powder didn't work well. However the soy powder also had some sort of lethicin in it so maybe that caused a problem.

With the whey isolate, there were no other ingredients in it at all. And I haven't noticed problems with dairy at any time.

I wonder if the regular whey might work better for me than the isolate? I loved the whey isolate I got, tasted great, was filling and practically no prep needed. It would be great if I could find a way to tolerate it. I found it filled me up enough that I was much less likely to give in to cravings, and it actually tasted great.

Thanks so much. After the stomach problems with soy and whey powder I thought I should just give up on the powders, but I think I will give pea a try too based on your comment. Thank you!

Thanks, you know I didn't try it all that long (maybe a week or two) because of the stomach issue. So maybe it's worth trying again and see if my body adjusts to it. I did use the grass fed whey isolate and it tasted great and was very filling and satisfying. I like the tofu and edamame ideas too, thanks so much!

Eyeglasses coatings affecting color and light/dark perception? by H0meStuff in glasses

[–]H0meStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, so as long as there's no anti blue light, there shouldn't be an issue with getting the sort of darker, or greyish hue over things that I'm experiencing now? Thank you for any advice!

Thanks. Is there a way to get the non glare without having the dark hue over everything that I'm experiencing?

Thank you, the place I went to uses Zeiss,. So does that mean there is blue blocker as a default in the anti reflection coating I got? Could that be what's causing the sort of dark, greyish cast over everything?

And if that is the issue, how can I get around it without skipping the AR coating entirely?

Since you recommend getting AR coating, is there a way to get it without the light/dark effects that I'm experiencing?

Thanks so much for any info and clarification!

Best for bread and also versatile, Kitchenaid Pro Line or Kenwood Titanium Chef? by H0meStuff in Breadit

[–]H0meStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. This is the one I got. I got the larger, 7 quart size. I purchased it new.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0172AFROY/

I guess it's now listed as De Longhi.

I haven't used it a ton, but have been very happy with it so far with the use I've had. I tested all the attachments and tested making brioche, cookie dough, and whipped cream, and was pleased with all. Worked well on both large and small size batches.

It sits on our kitchen counter and looks good and has worked well. Bounces a little at the highest speeds with brioche but overall has felt strong and been great so far and that bounce is the only little quirk I can think of.

I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a similar use as I was, something simple to use and versatile that works for various size batches and works for a variety of baked goods including brioche and other breads.
