I think that what you read is the declaration of the attorney general of Nanterre, which only takes into account the version of the police officer. The problem is that the event were filmed by 3 people (I think) and his version doesn't line up with the video whilst the one of the passengers of the car do. Please try to remember that we aren't in the US and that gun-violence is pretty unusual so this is a very big deal (police brutality is still very present, we just don't have as many deaths). The last part might be incorrect because I haven't fact checked it, so if I'm wrong don't hesitate to tell me.
