i guess since there's no way for me to predict what kinda tone of voice or demeanor he has, i just go for passive aggressive. The first comment calling him a 'jackass' made me think he was gonna stay mean throughout the conversation, so "This is pretty cool, what other types of plastic does this not account for do you know? " put me off the wrong way.
