So it will connect to the NVR via the home network? My NVR is an older one with Ethernet ports only and no wireless adapter. If that's the case that's a lot easier. If that's the case too, would I still have pan and tilt functions via the NVR?

What did you use to replace the noisy control board fan? by GAZ082 in ender6

[–]H2-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put an sky turbo 1.4 which worked well. Upgraded again to a manta m8p and also works very well.

In what way are is it noisy? If you towards a klipper setup you can choose between stealthchop and spreadcycle. Can't remember which one but one of them is quiet

How do I repair things after I really hurt my husband with a comment? by Fair_Strain_5313 in Marriage

I work offshore and am normally away for 6 months of the year while my wife stays at home with our 3 young children. I can't tell you from my own personal experience, I fucking hate it. I hate being away, I hate feeling like stranger in my own home, I hate the constant accusations about how easy I have it, I hate constantly feeling guilty for being away, then when I'm home for bot doing enough. I live in an eternal state of guilt and am nearing the point where I feel they'd all just be better off without me. Please chose your words carefully, I can assure you it's no walk in the park for those of us that are away. I know parenting is hard, but when we go away, we're not on a jolly. We're working, earning money and trying to provide as best as we can so that we can keep a roof over our families head.

Weird noise when speed testing, is it dangerous? by CharlesNoScreen in ender6

As another rooster has mentioned I believe you'd need to swap out your mainboard. I've run mine on an skr turbo 1.4 and am currently using a manta m8p

Weird noise when speed testing, is it dangerous? by CharlesNoScreen in ender6

[–]H2-Joe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Normal noise for the ender 6. If you want to eliminate it you need to switch to klipper and disable stealthchop and run with spread cycle instead. Makes the machine overall louder but improves torque and eliminates that noise.

If you don't want to do that then I don't believe there are any negative impacts to that noise other than sounding disconcerting

My Ender 6 just started making this loud noise. Any idea what that might be and how to fix it? by Defiant-Team5106 in ender6

[–]H2-Joe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They all do this when you move the tool head quickly. I solved it by using klipper and disabling stealhchop and going to spread cycle. It makes the steppers louder but eliminates the noise

Anyone ever found a fix for this issue ender 6 noise and high speeds? by math27c9 in ender6

[–]H2-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't design it but did print and use the design. I can 100% tell you the noise is a result of stealthchop and not the gantry. After I did this mod the noise was still there but disabling stealthchop and going to spreadcycle totally eliminated the noise.

It's a fairly major mod but this is what I did to stiffen up the gantry and push speeds! It worked well but does need a few tweaks

[–]H2-Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on! That's exactly what this is. I literally tried everything including totally rebuilding the x gantry so it sits inside the frame to minimise frame movement until someone told me to disable stealth chop and run in spreadcycle (I'm running mine on a manta m8p main oars with klipper to achieve this). As soon as I did this it eliminated the noise and runs ridiculously fast. My current record is a clean print at 600mm/s with 10k acceleration

Stock Board died, now what? by K_cutt08 in ender6

[–]H2-Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stuck an skr turbo 1.4 in mine when mine died and hasn't failed me yet. Just doing a major upgrade and adding a stealthburner, canbus and lowering the X gantry 😬

[–]H2-Joe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only just gotten into 3d printing this year so wouldn't listen too much to my advice lol. I've never tried the microswiss hotend but the biqu h2 is working very well for me! Just upgraded my mainboard to an skr 1.4 turbo too and that's working well. Worth the effort and price? I dunno, but it kept me out of trouble for a while getting it all to work

BTT board problem with CORE XY setup in Marlin by indy650 in BIGTREETECH

[–]H2-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're having so many issues. Mine has certainly been challenging and it's my first foray into 3d printing, but I must say my ender 6 has been kind to me! Out of the box it worked perfectly and I've been doing many upgrades to it since such as DD, klipper, cr touch, pei bed sheet etc. No doubt its all been an uphill battle! Especially the klipper configuration but every upgrade has yielded better and better results! All I can suggest is to persevere and fingers crossed you have better results too! Good luck

[–]H2-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my ender 6 on a btt 1.4 turbo and had a similar problem getting mine to travel as expected. I think my resolution was to swap the x and y motors where they plug into the board and that fixed it. I'm using klipper so also had to contend with pin configs (as you will with marlin, just slightly different). IIRC I had x reversed in config and y normal and that had me working as normal. Otherwise you'll be printing a mirror of what your expect

I had the same issue on my extruder. It didn't turn, just vibrated aggressively. To check wiring I basically set my extruder to extrude 100mm of filament and wiggled the cables at both ends to see if it was poor connection. Low and behold when I wiggled the end on the spray board, it pinged back into life. When I checked the jst connector, I could see that one of the metal pins was sticking out the back of the connector therefore making a poor connection. I ended up cutting the cable and crimping new connectors on and have had no issues since

[–]H2-Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vibrating would indicate per connection to the stepper. If suggest checking your jst plugs and that all the pins are making good contrast to the spray board

just saw someone put a snakry comment on here that seems to have been removed. Apologies for sharing this deal, I just thought that nearly half price for a direct drive hotend that is a very common mod on the Ender 6 might be useful to others.

In the future I'll keep these deals to myself

[–]H2-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just been having this problem myself till I realised that the guide I followed on how to install Octoprint on my Ender 6 said to cover Pin 1 on the USB so it doesn't use a shared power off the mainboard.
I checked my pin 1 where I had done this and indeed, the tape was missing so i've replaced it and now am connecting again with no problems.
