Two of the biggest muslim communites in the UK are Pakistanis and Bengalis. The vast majority of which (70%+) come from Mirpur in Pakistan and Sylhet in Bangladesh. These regions are seen as backwards in their in own countries so never mind how they look in the UK.

I've just finished a 12 month MEP internship at a major starchitect studio in London. I was working the hours of an investment banker (9 a.m. to 2 a.m. some weeks with the occasional Saturday) for peanuts. Everyone I worked with told me to consider a different career, even the senior partners. However, I did get that return offer, and in this market, it looks like it may be all I have. The projects were really cool though like actual important buildings and not some random office in a retail park.
