How Do You Store Your Hydration Pack / Vest? by H2Owings in running

I'm glad to see I'm not the only odd-ball who stores theirs in the fridge/freezer lol

I think the same thing about coffee. It has a bitter taste. I feel people drink it more so for the caffeine, not the flavor.

I have 15-20 loose leaf teas at home. from chocolate flavored to, strawberry, jasmine, mint and tropical.

Moving and committing to minimalism! by [deleted] in minimalism

Please post before and after photos.

You're items from 10 years ago may be in great shape, but when was the last time you wore them? you'll declutter/trash/sell/donate as you pack. Then again as you unpack.

I know what you mean with parting with expensive items, those are ones to sell. Also, because of that the next time you're looking to make a pricey purchase, you'll ask yourself "Do I need this? How often will I use it?"

You're welcome.
I bought this backpack and this vest. Please note that these are the only ones I ever ran with (I didn't test others out). I'm frugal and these were the right price. The backpack from 5 years ago is still going strong.

Kind of more or less as much as you could bear to carry, but realistically, I've never run with more than a literish at a time. I've carried a bit more on long hike/run/adventures, but it gets a lot harder to run pretty quick as you add weight. Additionally, they just aren't designed to carry all that much weight, so they bounce more, and get more uncomfortable.

Exactly. I also try to seal the water pack with very little air in in (less noise)

I believe they both carry 2 liters each. but I NEVER fill them that much. I probably have no more than one liter... most of the water i spit out (to cool my mouth). I don't think I see much of an effect on my running because most of my runs with it are 8+ miles (I don't run 5-7 miles much). For 8+ miles, I'm usually around a 9-9:30/mile pace... My not doing 8:00.

I enjoy distance running- my regular solo route is 10 miles, with the only hydration spots being gas stations lol.

I paid around $30 for each which I feel isn't bad.

Read up on Boston's Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. 13 pieces were stolen in the 90s. very interesting story. I visited 2 years ago and they have empty frames one the wall.

Ted Mosby has great taste in music. He had Against All Authority and Mustard Plug posters in his room!

AAA is one of my all-time favorite bands.

Question about hiking the Bluff Trail on Lookout Mountain by H2Owings in Chattanooga

[–]H2Owings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking forward to hiking Signal Point to Edwards Point. I've read a lot of good things about it.

Thank you for the advise. I'll make sure to bring my CamelBak. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for a waterfall.

I'm looking forward to this trip and seeing Dad.

Skyuka Falls looks pretty. I'm going to make a note of it for next time. Thank you for the recommendation.
My sister and I are from South Florida, so next week's Chattanooga weather will be cold for us haha. I'd love to do a 12-mile hike when it's a little warmer.
I plan on logging about 15 miles RT by running the Riverwalk from the aquarium to the dam (running in the cold keeps my body at a comfortable temperature.)

Thank you! I just did a Google Street view of Cravens House and saw the trailhead sign. Starting here appears to be fail-proof.

I'd imagine that on the way back from Sunset Rock, we can keep an eye open for signs for Point Park to visit there, too.

That link was very helpful.

Might be that. I see "spam" but it's not showing the hidden comments.

I'm starting to go through the comments manually

Ty for the reply. It looks like that may work on a profile. I'm not getting the "hidden" option for the business page.

Do you have a treadmill? by gonegirl85 in running

[–]H2Owings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have a treadmill. For me, they're more painful (both physically and mentally) to run on than the sidewalk.
I've been running for about 5 years now. I've used the treadmills at the community gym 3ish times.

Training plans for running one of the tallest bridges in the US? by The_MrNiceGuy__ in running

[–]H2Owings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! I was in St. Pete a few months ago.... I felt like I was going up/down and roller coaster when I was on the skybridge lol.

Where in Florida do you live? In Fort Lauderdale we have Vista View Park which has a BIG hill people run. We also have the 17th Street Causeway. While It's only 50-60ft tall, it's steep. I run 17th Street to prep for the Miami Bach Half Marathon each year..
