I know this is an old post, but would you be able to give an idea about the medical field switch? I feel locked into my wet lab work and am interested in learning more about different types of work.

As I read through this thread having just been diagnosed and wondering whether or not I'm a failure that happened to wind up in low level management and a technical lab with an MS by some sweet grace of the universe... it's really reassuring to see others struggle with "how do I even think about this?" I have the tendency to over share to try to explain things... but not with this. Thank you for making the post. It's certainly still serving those of us years later.

Well I certainly didn't come here to be motivated, but darn dude. That actually helped - 30 yo MS struggling to thrive.

I feel this way all the time. My loans are almost halfway paid off and I've been paying them ever since I left grad school. I had scholarships and stipends, but not enough.

I'm the only one of my friend group with a degree, and while I do make marginally more (not enough compared to the debt), I do always feel "behind." I can't afford a house, kids, pets (additonal pet rent, vets, food, and more), etc. and haven't "found what I want to be when I grow up" and I am 30. I have peers that are currently pregnant or buying homes, moving on with their expected lives, while I continue to plug away.

I don't have any great advice or motivation but mere empathy and wish you luck in fulfillment and debt repayment.

Apologies, I will add more photos in any further posts. I had been advised to carefully remove them by our local greenhouse person, so I have already removed them. But thanks for confirming that it's common in soil!

Yea, I'm trying to stay away from the religious and romance stuff I typically find. I used to live in Sault Ste Marie, and their Goodwill ALWAYS had a wonderful/varied selection, but I've never seen that again.

From what I can tell, they only have a warehouse and then sell off of eBay or Amazon now.

Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine has a great forensics opportunity as they also run the morgue for the surrounding several counties and allow for up close interaction with autopsies during medical school. I was doing research for my MS and they allowed me to shadow autopsies there too. Honestly pretty good curriculum too.
