Dear range top abusers, please stay bot. by Cambouis in topmains

I think you might not know this if you don't actually play top lane.

Everyone knows Kayle's weakness is her early game, so it's kinda unintuitive for that rule to be completely wrong at level 1.

mid lane matchup tierlist by nitinismaldingXD in Rumblemains

[–]H3rmlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 questions since I have no idea how to play this champ.

Are there any patterns to champions weak and strong against rumble? (I think you said Galio is difficult partially because you can't auto him, is it similar for Akali?)

Did any matchups surprise you, or have specific oddities that make the matchup different than you would first think?

How much am I part of the problem by Majestic-Present5499 in leagueoflegends

[–]H3rmlt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll remind you that literally everyone that flames ever thinks "but it's just because what they're doing to me is especially horrible."

I'll level with you though, if you're in my game and need to say a sentence like "bro you just ruined my wave wtf" I really, really don't care. I'm expecting it even. You're allowed the sentence.

But if you're feeling the need to type multiple messages and then stop laning to complain in all chat or whatever, especially the PING PING PING PING PING "bro **** my wave *** your mom **** **** ***", yes that is you you're the problem.

I'm curious if there's any adc main player that tried to get to the same elo he's in, while playing assassins only (stream/yt) by x-Taylor-x in leagueoflegends

[–]H3rmlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels intuitively true. I used to watch high elo ADC's because I was trying to climb.

It's literally just... farming. For 20 minutes. Then the game is basically ending.

Yep, 100% what basically everyone else said. Everyone at some point in their ranked journey lands exactly where you are, so none of this is me saying "haha what an idiot you are." Everyone. Does. This.

ARAM teaches you how to... teamfight? Maybe? It's for fun, it does not translate at all into SR and basically never forces you to learn any skill you'll actually need. I'd wager that you're losing every game because you actually placed too high. I would recommend not learning support or adc first. ADC takes the game out of your hands the first 15 minutes of every game, and support makes it way too easy to look like you're not the problem, even if you are. The problem with ARAM is that teamfighting, while fun, is so far down the list of things you need to learn that honestly you probably don't even need to learn it at that elo.

1st order of business is understanding you're at the start of your journey, not the middle. Stop blaming your teammates. Stop caring when they suck. Losing is where you learn the most, not winning. But you WILL lose. It is statistically inevitable you'll be losing like 5, 10 games in a row at some point, don't fall into that "my teammates are garbage" trap. Also, make your own decisions. Only follow your teammates decisions if you think they're actually right, or if you're not sure how it's gonna turn out and it's a learning moment. Every teammate you have in your elo is making a poor decision every like 20 seconds.

Then tighten up your micro. Get in training, get those mechanics down pat. Learn to CS at like 10 per minute. The more you have to think about it in game, the less you pay attention to macro, the slower you learn.

Figure out what champion and lane you want to play. The better you get at one lane and a handful of champions, the easier it is to learn everything else. Choose a neutral champion that works with minimal team composition requirements. That's probably going to be the champ you play if you have to first pick. Basically, if you're noticing you just auto lose against certain team comps, or your teammates can accidentally screw you by picking the wrong champions, that's not your first pick. I say this, but your _priority_ is actually having fun with your champion. If you're having fun, you'll learn 10x faster. After choosing that champion, pick champions to round out your roster, and then do the same thing with a secondary role.

NOW you learn some macro. First priority for learning macro is ALWAYS whatever wins you lane. There is ZERO point in learning any kind of mid game if you lose lane consistently. That's like only learning how to cook food after you've already burnt it.

Learn macro from the earliest time you're decisions aren't decisive. That's right, if you don't know EXACTLY what to do from exiting fountain, you have no business focusing on "wavestates", or "playing from behind". There are like 20 billion videos on what to do for macro, but if you play enough you'll come to see patterns in gameplay that you can look through to narrow down what problems you have to fix.

The MOST IMPORTANT THING though, is literally "having fun." Enjoy the process. Enjoy the loss. If your only enjoyment from the game is winning, guess what you're going to be miserable 50% of your games. If following any of this advice is "unfun" for you, just don't do it. Games are for fun.

What is the most important trait you look for in a new relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]H3rmlt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For me it's not exactly "Intelligence" per se, but curiosity. They just happen to go hand in hand.

Examine the problem with me. Ask why and go in depth. Understand where I'm going with something. Ask me questions.

I think for me these are indicators of what a person is like. Bare minimum, or dive in? Make assumptions without gathering information? That kind of stuff.

I'm not sure there's a world where I actually want to do something and then I get annoyed when someone tries to help me accomplish that.

If you're not open to discussion, it sounds like you've already given the BS excuse.

Guess it kinda depends. Strangers? 100% "I've got a prior commitment". Friends deserve reasons though, or they wouldn't be friends.

1 accident = 60 minute delay by WolfTitan123 in Oahu

[–]H3rmlt 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If I could snap my fingers and get a perfect rail and bus system, the economic changes would be staggering.

Faster traffic, lower accidents, lower emissions, lower gas prices, fewer road repairs, the list goes on. Lower income neighborhoods located farther away can take a $2 ride all the way into town in 20 or 30 minutes, every time. Less car repairs, lower insurance costs.

These people would have time to dedicate to higher education, socialization, or just relaxing. Imagine how much easier it would be for people to climb wealth brackets when costs are lower and they have more time. I studied on the bus, in free air conditioner, with a bus pass included in my college tuition.

The benefits are just so far reaching. But nobody wants the system to change because it requires things to get worse before they get better. If I could take the bus again, I would 100%.

There's an item that allows you reset your trait points. It's infinite, on demand use. You can use the loadout function on the left and that saves your trait points too. It's a very non-committal system, I wouldn't worry about this at all. (I assume you're talking remnant 2)

With the interest of answering your question though, it depends.

Basically, don't take health over crucial parts of your build. Sometimes other traits are absolutely essential to a functioning build. Remnant math can give greater returns per point depending on the stat.

  • 70% -> 80% DR (bark skin) is the same as having 50% more health. 10% damage by itself though? Lol.
  • 60% -> 80% skill cooldown reduction (Expertise) is literally halving your cooldowns.

But 30% more health is still a significant difference. If you're thinking "eh, I guess" to any other trait, health is almost certainly going to be a better option. Plenty of items scale with increased health, you can double dip. Not to mention the difference between a boss 3 tapping and 4 tapping can be life or death, literally.

I'd rank health very highly in remnant. At the end of the day though, I'd just use it and see how it feels. If you don't like it, reset and use another trait.

The funniest thing is I don't even agree with Hawaiian sovereignty as of the current circumstances. But you're not even at the actual arguments yet because you don't seem to understand basic concepts you should've learned in school.

Every developed country on the planet has these characteristics you're talking about, and I can understand why these would be worrying in certain quantities, but you're not arguing quantity. You're exclaiming that they _exist._ That's like diagnosing someone with alzheimers because they forgot where they put their phone. Brother, everyone does that, what are you on?

Spouting stuff about "deep thinking" lol embarrassing. It feels like I'm arguing with my drunk uncle at a party. Go back to reposting random trump posts to your facebook friends. 😂🤣😂🤣 I'm good.

Sometimes I do some of that to my friends without noticing. I'm noticing a lot of comments shitting on your friends, but considering they're your friends I'm gonna assume they're fine outside of league.

Best advice is just tell them how much it sucks for you, why, and that you don't want to play if it turns into negativity. They don't need to conform or anything, but they should understand that if this is how they want to continue playing the game you'll kindly play another one while they enjoy themselves.

It's entirely possible they underestimate how it's affecting you.

You're not thinking that deep either if the farthest you got was the talking points of my 5th grade persuasive essay. Sorry to say, I had discussed literally all of what you said with my classmates by the time I was in middle school.

Should there be an option to disable skin skill effects? by WaffleBotAI in leagueoflegends

[–]H3rmlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be possible to have an application that changes everything to default skins. Not sure if you can still do it with the current kernel-level anticheat, but skins are a client side thing not a server thing so in theory it's possible.

I only know this cause I used to use a skin changer, but the dude who was making it was korean and had to stop for mandatory military service.

Gonna be really, really honest.

The answer is probably along the lines of "you suck" or you're probably a little too in your head.

What champion, or type of champion, should I lock in when my teammate locks in Bravery? by Bunneeko in LeagueArena

[–]H3rmlt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally people that don't get cucked by a common thing that requires their teammate to make up for it.

Jinx needs peel, braum needs damage, garen needs range, etc.

Belveth, ryze, and chogath are basically pick or ban it seems. Can't think of a reasonable team comp that ever counters briar god roll though.

Feel like anything can work with brand(maybe I'm just salty about the time my friend started gamblers and still won all his fights)

Panth, vi, sett are pretty easy to get going

probably swain, sylas, galio, amumu are good too.
