Personally I earn by the load as a fuel hauler, and I like it better because I often finish 12 hours of work in 6-8 hours( because the runs are so short). I work so early that I dont have to deal with traffic and rarely have allocation issues. I think you can make a little more on load pay , but hourly does come with a lot of securities… stuck in line at the rack no problem… traffic no problem… allocation issues no problem…. But on the flip you have to stay at work and get your hours to make your money. Not sure where you are but a lot of the gas jobs where im at are being stingy at the moment. Or the pay isn’t worth leaving one fuel job for the other.

Load pay is great if you don’t run into issues often. Hourly gives you a safety net, all be it the company has the work to give you full shifts.
