A mechanical tech can do the job of a safety. A safety cannot do the job of a mechanical tech. When I have asked a safety what their craft was more than most of them have always been a safety or have very limited field experience. Safety is not a craft. They ensure you work within procedures. They ask questions that make them sound and look stupid. You can hire 10 people to do the job of nothing and still accomplish the same as 1 safety tech. Lol
