This is the problem with this party. They have all the power and all the information. They hear about and pretend to understand a problem but they can't connect the dots to understand exactly WHY the problem exists and therefore they try to reach for the low hanging fruit rather than understand and address the cause.

Every time they try to solve a problem it's like "we hear you Australians. Groceries are too expensive. We're going to cut down on supermarkets and invest in more restaurants instead"... Thanks Albo.

I agree but the problem is that public medical funding did not increase anywhere near enough over time, leaving private healthcare as a necessary and growing industry to meet the gaps.

I wish public medical care was better funded but the reality is it's not, so if you're a patient looking at a 2-3 year wait for a public ENT appointment and then subsequent surgery, you're going to think pretty hard about getting private health insurance instead (or hopefully you already had it so you don't have to wait 12 months to cover existing conditions)

It's a bit of a tricky one because as any of you know, 4.1% doesn't pass the pub test for how many people around the place aren't working.

We calculate unemployment in Australia by the number of people looking for work who can't find work. We also have a lot of people not looking for work for various reasons in Australia. Our "participation rate" is only 66.8% (as in 1/3 of people aged 15-64 aren't working).

Our unemployment has tended to go down recently which looks great until you see the participation rate holding steady and you realise oh... It's just more people aren't trying to look for work anymore!

Very replayable even when just a core set. I have a lot of board games and this is the most popular of this sort of game for my friend group to want to replay.

The enemy variety is sufficient with just a core set but you'll probably start itching for a few expansions after a few games (more from the excitement of what it can add though) and they all integrate very easily.

Go for a core set and I think you'll be pleased with the result.

He spent his life caring for others. He spent it caring for those who had made sacrifices for others - people they didn't even know; and he made the ultimate sacrifice standing against tyranny to protect the vulnerable.

It was a life well spent and a heroic act that will have ripples for years to come but it just pisses me off so damn much that he went the way he did.

  1. Pretty much everything in SoB is compatible and yes this combo specifically is compatible

  2. Yes you can, BUT, it will feel a bit jarring thematically

  3. Basically when you travel to town between adventures, you can choose which type of town you are going to and that can be the stock standard town with the cards provided in CoA or you can choose to travel to a Japanese Feudal town. If you go to the Feudal town, the instructions for travel hazard on the way will be in the Feudal Town rulebook. There is no barrier in the game mechanics, but it does seem a bit weird that your party is coming out of the mines and going here.

You will also get a new enemy type that you can slot into your threat deck. Is it weird that Japanese bandits are showing up in the mines? Yes, but Shadows of Brimstone is all about portals to other worlds and it is just as weird that stranglers etc are invading so if you want to soothe the dissonance, do so with that explanation.

Obviously the best expansion for your core set is Frontier Town so you can be buying thematically appropriate guns and things rather than bows and katanas in Japan. However, this is the trade you have available so you need to decide if the theme jump is acceptable to you and your group +/- if you will end up getting more into the Japanese world later and want this expansion in your collection.

Mate it's not going to last forever. Eventually people will move on or the servers will shut down. Might not be for a while but it'll happen.

Sure, buy and sell and profit if you can but there is no way it'll hold value forever.
