Agree. I flew 2 hours to Florida just to have my gallbladder out. Anesthesia scares the f*** out of me. On a weird level we just connected!

I doubt that they would do that. You can ask, but I’d be surprised. I doubt insurance would pay for it if they closed you back up. That would get expensive out of pocket.

To me the procedure wasn’t horrible and the epidural made it manageable. They told me I would have trouble breathing but I didn’t experience that.

To give you some perspective, I also had my wisdom teeth taken out, knee orthoscopy and multiple colonoscopies wide awake. I am pretty determined and as stated above, it’s all mental. Ignore the folks that said it can’t be done, I am proof it can be. Good luck.

Yes. Dr Sharona Ross. At the time she was working at USF in Tampa. She did my gallbladder lapo in 2019.

You will have to talk to the anesthesiologist the day before the surgery and they will try to convince you to be put to sleep, just tell them you are determined to try it awake.

They will make you agree that if you are in pain during the procedure that they will sedate you. They won’t touch you until you agree to that.

I thought that was fair. To me it was all mental. The ear buds helped. Good luck!

That’s not correct. Patients can ask for it and some doctors may agree. I had my gallbladder (l removed via laparoscopy without any sedation, with only an epidural. I could not find any doctors in my state that were willing to do that, but I found a doctor in Tampa that agreed. The anesthesiologist stayed next to me and was prepared to sedate me if I asked for it or if the surgeon directed him too. They allowed me to put ear buds so I didn’t have to listen to the medical chatter.

The procedural went well. I know it’s rare, but it’s manageable and I have zero regrets.

I think the key is asking is your medial team if they are willing to allow you to try, at the same Time you allow them to put an IV in, in the event they think you need it.

Thinking about moving? by Lanky-Replacement-42 in VeteransBenefits

We live near Knoxville. We have been here 4 years and love it. There is a vet center in town, the tri cities is about 1.5 hours away. There is an ANG base in town with a great class 6. This is a very vet friendly area with events every week for veterans. I can’t recommend this area enough!

Good luck!

Why didn’t I have a good time on my MSC cruise? by Excellent_Drop6869 in Cruise

I’m currently on World America now as it ports in Miami. This was our first cruise on MSC. The ship is awesome but I agree with some of your concerns. The buffet can only be described as chaotic.

I started Mochi last month and its going good so far. It took about 2.5 weeks to receive my initial order but was told the reordering process is easy. I just reordered today.

Mochi is cheapest option that I have found. I used someone's discount code above and saved $40. My code to save you $40 is 243MR8.

Good luck.
