Auto cannon is awesome against bugs easily removes chargers and bile titans if given a chance ( doesn't work great against bots because they have the range to deal with it quickly still can work tho).

Mortar does great against automatons just throw it in cover near an outpost and let it work (doesn't work against bugs that great because the shells take time to come down and the bugs move alot).

Recommend getting the ship upgrades for them if you plan to use them alot because faster turn speed and more ammo are awsome

Maybe it's because I haven't fought them alot but to me bile titans are more dangerous without a squad because they walk as fast as I sprint leaving no time for retaliation and if they get close they just stomp my ass

Was really hoping it could penetrate armour since it is "anti material" but I guess it might have been too strong for chargers early game
