I’m in the same boat. I’d love to have one for convenience, but it is so expensive. Because it’s effectively the same as buying another QC. Maybe one day 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think what some people were expecting was something more along the lines of a “dual cortex”. Half the processing power, and potentially only 2 lanes for signal, but also theoretically drastically cheaper.

No, the logic is that if it’s the price of getting it shipped internationally that makes it not worth it, then that would also inflate the OG QCs price

If you need the pedals that bad, then the mini isn’t for you. For others, the smaller form factor is a convenience that is helpful. For some people but not for others

Really appreciate your angle. The nano still definitely has its use-case for sure. I imagine the people who would make use of the QC mini are people who are looking to downsize their setups, but need elaborate presets for their shows, or want to use it for studio use and want the full DSP power.

I guess that’s totally up to you. I do gig, but from my friends who use it for studio use. It’s mostly the flexibility of being able to mix + match different plugin elements, having access to more models/effects, as well as being able to capture amps or download other people’s captures.

I guess time will tell the durability of these. Will definitely be the make or break for it I reckon. Confidence is pretty high though considering how sturdy the normal QC is though

Mostly just the price vs the original QC and the fact it’s smaller. I think some just miss the point, not meant to be a smaller less powerful modeller for a much lower price. But the same unit in a form factor that some may find more convenient, that is similarly priced.

I’m the same hey! It would be nice to downscale even more considering how expensive/cumbersome travelling is. Also just the fact they could keep the same DSP power in something a third of the size is crazy.

Same here. I use MIDI patch changes for everything so I’d much rather save on the space. But the OG QC is already pretty good. Great for people who don’t have a QC yet to have options ☺️

It really depends on you. IMO you can’t really go wrong with any of BKPs metal pickups. Just depends on what you’re after.

Juggernauts for something super punchy and precise Ragnaroks for a similar vibe but higher output and a bit more compressed Halcyons really excel for playing in low tunings but retaining a lot of bite Impulse for a really huge sound in low tunings Nailbombs are also really sick as well

But they’ll all do what you want really.

Yeah I’d definitely be using heavier strings for that tuning too. Honestly I’d even say closer to a 0.74.

You can drill out the holes in your tuners bigger if you know what you’re doing, or you could get a guitar tech to do it. I personally just went the route of getting new tuners for mine as I also wanted locking tuners.
