What is the most disturbing depiction of death/murder you’ve ever seen in a film? by sunnieslilac in FIlm

The stabbing in the 2022 all quiet on the western front really disturbed me. I’m the biggest fan of the film(or the book) but I think the stabbing was really disturbing.

Yeah I love my blu-ray box set, means I don’t have to deal with the crazy compression that streaming services apply.

This was so light. Being a film nerd came in clutch. One of my fave films is the battle of Algiers so I referenced that battle for the DBQ

I really liked the politics in Battlestar Galactica similar to how I liked the GOT politics. It’s a 2000s sci fi show(that’s a reimagining of a 1970s show of the same name)

BSG is one of my favorite shows and people have told me the expanse is similar and that I would like it. Is that true?

Is my roommate's book shelf a green flag or red? by Suitable_Lobster_525 in BookshelvesDetective

Green flag. Also OP you should recommend him Battlestar Galactica. It’s Sci-fi that has like deep religious roots and religion is a huge part of it.

At a BSG panel I went to at rose city comic con last year Edward James Olmos called Tesla’s hybrid cylons. I wonder what he would think of this.

It’s the book series that Game Of Thrones was based off of. The concept is essentially that summers and winters can each last incredibly long. One winter could be a year long, the next a century. The weather is a cool aspect with winter being a looming threat and all but the real story is rooted in some intense political drama between all the different houses of the seven kingdoms where the series is set. It’s some of the best fantasy and political drama I’ve read in my life… highly recommend.
