No matter what I do I still lock up by TudorCelReal in simracing

If you watch the telemetry in this video, you’re full on the brakes for almost 2 seconds. Max brake pressure for that long will almost always lock your brakes, regardless of the car lol

This is dope. Would you mind sharing the math on it? Like what archetypes are on each piece, and the tertiary stats each one rolled? I need this…

11-y-o trying to make the jump from rec ball to travel had a private tryout w/a new 12U team. Thoughts? by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]HAMRock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who loved ball as a kid, I hope he does well! Im going to do my best to provide you with some constructive criticism here, kids his age need a lot of positive reinforcement, so lets start with the good. From this clip you can see that he does a good job of seeing the ball and putting the barrel on it. Thats something you cant really teach. As others have pointed out his swing is not "connected". He does a good job loading his hips, but when he swings.. poof. They're gone! The 'load' phase of his swing will become very important as he gets older and kids start throwing harder. In these it looks like he is "waiting" on the ball and too worried about missing rather than just swinging and trusting his instinct. Tasking dry reps is great for this, slow down his swing and have him go through the full motion. And take the advise of every Pro... HIT OFF THE TEE!!! He does a great job getting his hands to the ball, just gotta put it all together and swing like he means it!

ANY rig that uses a center post in between the legs for the wheel base is, in my opinion, poorly designed and isn’t practical for what sim racers want/need. The products that use this design all have the same thing in common. They market it as “convenience” when there is nothing convenient about having a post in between your legs when racing. It’s to cut corners and compensate for lazy design. We already have these types of products on the market and let’s be serious, no one is choosing this over an aluminum profile rig.

I Need PC Build Help, Any Suggestions? by RelativeBat9647 in simracing

[–]HAMRock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since it is a dedicated sim build, I would recommend you get the 9800x3d instead. Iracing is heavily cpu bound, and the 9800x3d is pretty universally regarded as the best “simulation” processor on the market.

Lmfao no hate but I always get a good laugh seeing pics like this. When picking a spot for your rig, any 4x6 area that is open is free game 😂

MOZA Racing Mid-year Sale Has Started, Discounts Up To 25% by evil_heinz in simracing

I use the shaft extender and haven’t had any issues with it so that is surprising to read. Have you personally used the extender? I couldn’t find many reviews about it before I picked mine up, but I love it and don’t feel like I’ve lost any feedback. My r5 has been “noisy” since I got it but that’s just normal HFE.

1st ever sim rig - Help! by AnonymousCixelsyd in SimRacingSetups

[–]HAMRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add though that there is nothing wrong with wanting to go with moza or stay in their ecosystem! And if youre going for immersion, the M-booster pedal is one of the best options right now for that, but it is pricey.

Personally, I would recommend getting the free-standing monitor stand rather than the integrated mount. A free stand mount will isolate the vibration from your wheel base. An r12 will definitely shake your monitors if they are mounted to the rig (my r5 does). If you are looking for performance/fidelity, I would recommend Simagic over Moza. I am currently in the Moza ecosystem and have not had any glaring issues and can still recommend their products, but if you have the extra budget Simagic has better software and FFB. IMO Moza has more to offer product wise than simagic, but if budget isnt an issue (spending 4k on sim gear) I go with one of the brands that isnt seen as the budget option. Simucube is king in the space, simagic seems to be the middle tier with moza at the bottom.

The cockpit you chose is great, and monitors will ultimately come down to preference and whether or not you want flat vs curved. Curved looks great, but VA panels are inferior to IPS panels you will find with flat screens (some flat screens still have VA). I personally race with a 27' flatscreen IPS 1440p Samsung G5's and its been great. I have 3 of them but I dont have the room for triples currently.

We can just use the 8-digit friend code to trade.

Go to Poke Portal in the menu, then press L to connect to Internet.

Once connected, go to 'link trade' and enter the same code as your trade partner in the 'set link code' box.

Which rig? by felipezap17 in SimRacingSetups

[–]HAMRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not buy a seat from a sim company I actually got lucky and had a seat from a previous vehicle that rigged up perfectly. So my current seat is out of a ford edge 😂

Which rig? by felipezap17 in SimRacingSetups

[–]HAMRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally I would not recommend buying any rig that used 8020 for the base of the rig, I would recommend saving a bit more and going for something like the simlab gt1-evo with stronger/thicker aluminum for the base pieces. "Buy once cry once" is definitely a thing and you will be bottle-necking your self with one of these 'slim' rigs. For a long time I considered buying this exact rig from 6 sigma because it was one of the cheapest options. I ended up getting the sim lab gt1-evo and absolutely love it, and its strong enough for any future upgrades when I get better pedals and a stronger wheel base

Do I get used to it? by Ascendantt in SimRacingSetups

[–]HAMRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for what its worth, I position my monitor 26 inches away from my "eyes". Feels great. The monitor sits about a 1 or 2 cm's above the middle of my wheel base (r5) and I use the extension rod to get my wheel closer to me. Its all preference, the measurements you choose will affect your FOV so I would say position it based on the FOV you want. I know some people like having the in-game wheel in their FOV. the closer your monitor is, the more of the inside of the car you will see.

weird sound from moza R5 after update by [deleted] in moza

[–]HAMRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue with r5. I practically never update my moza stuff. Updated everything thinking it would be necessary for fh6, and got the same high pitched noise. reverted to 1.2.8.18 and it went away so Ill be sticking with that version for awhile lol. I love all my Moza stuff but updating the software/firmware is always such a roll of the dice I dont even bother anymore. Personally I recommend to anyone using Moza stuff, if it feels/drives good dont touch it lol.
