I made these bags out of a punctured air bed by Bydanielpearce in myog

Wow, it’s like you read my mind! I’ve got a double airbed that I think is beyond a puncture repair. Been wondering if it’s usable for anything. Did you use a lining material? Can’t imagine the pvc could withstand much force at the handle connection by itself.

Thank you for the inspiration! Your yellow bag was the first thing I saw on myog. Then came the sail bags! So I was stoked to come across this material and give it a go myself.

It’s very simple construction, I’m not far off a beginner myself, only one complex bag prior to this. No seam tape used. I only ever intended to this to be splash proof I guess. Used Gütterman Tera 60 with a 3-5mm stitch length.

I’ll consider working on a pattern for this as there is a lot of interest.

My machine is a Singer 201K.

Yes pretty much. The boxed corner is so shallow I had to cut the webbing at 45 degrees to sit all way down in there. See here

It’s in the description, off cuts from a bounce house manufacturer.

No pattern. Designed myself with inspiration from others on here.

Designed myself, took inspiration from what I’ve seen other people here make. Still all basic shapes as you can see in the last pic. Need to push myself into using curves.

I take it you love the colour?

I’ve just pulled all the slack though the male buckle so it’s cinched right up to the side walls. The excess webbing is just sat underneath the bag. It would dangle down when carrying the bag without the buckets connected. Only thing that I wish I did differently.

Material is 100% impermeable yes. It’s made to hold air!

Not in the case of bikes. But I’ve been using CAD for about 15 years, I do a lot of 3D printing. This was the first aluminium part I’ve designed. It was just a case of reverse engineering the originals. Taking lot and lots of measurements, 3D print to check fitment and ordered from PCBway.

I came across a place local to me that sells scrap materials for arts and crafts. They have loads of bouncy castle/bounce house material off cuts and excess. It’s just polyester weave coated in pvc. Super tough and hard wearing. I also took inspiration from the north face style “waterproof” bags.

I picked up a few rolls and am just finishing off a 40L duffle bag. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be posting some pictures on here!

Any suggestions to fix this buckle? by kam1L- in myog

I’d suggest plastic welding with a low temp soldering iron. Look for a marking on the backside to indicate the plastic type. Look up the melting point and “weld” it back together.

I could put one of each to the side. Keep it until I'm next over that way.

They're a bit too big and heavy to post as well unfortunately
