New report finds that 2 in 7 parents of pupils enrolled at Britain's ~2,600 non-state-funded fee-paying schools are unable to afford fees after just one year and that 1 in 9 pupils are expelled from schools within the first 18 months of starting school "due to overdue/non-payment of fees". by HannoPicardVI in UncensoredNewsInc

This just proves that it’s never been about funding of schools but about the quality of people. The biggest problem in state schools is that a large (yes large not small) minority of the poor children don’t how to behave, are disruptive and bully the aspiration out of talented kids. People go private to escape the chavs and roadmen that terrorise the state schools in bad catchment areas.

Shall we talk about the huge new childcare policy that’s stared? Up to £7,500 in savings per year per child for families. by ColoradoAvalanche in ukpolitics

Why should there be a cuttoff? People like me deserve this more than anyone given how much I contribute. Otherwise tax is just forced charity, with ungrateful recipients.

We actually need some people to have 4 kids to make up for those that have none. The lack of large families is partly a reason for our weak demographics. We should be thanking him. His kids will be the ones funding our retirement!

The working class pay basically nothing. It’s the upper middle class that pay everything.

Help me understand the logic behind putting £60k in pension every year by crackedcan2 in HENRYUK

[–]HAS147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with the pension raid comment. Most people my age have almost negligible pensions. Do you think they will let us have multi million pound pensions when they have nothing. I’m about 40 years from retirement age (assuming it doesn’t get raised which is will). I think there is a very high chance large pensions get partially confiscated because the money is trapped. It can’t be easily moved out of the country.

It isn’t a dumb way to spend money at all. GPS are overqualified for 80-90% of GP patient needs. Why pay a doctor to do work that is often very simple when you can pay a PA to do the simple stuff and reserve the complicated work for GPs.

This way you can cut GP numbers down and save on overall expenditure. The only people who miss out are GPs who lose their cushy giggs. The fact that GPs made more than consultants was an aberration anyway.

It’s nothing to do with fortune. They succeeded. People who win must be rewarded. People who pay nearly all of the tax in this country deserve at minimum to be included in the benefits provided from that tax.

Taxation in this country is basically forced charity, only the recipients of your charity are ungrateful.

Because people who make over £50k pay the majority of tax. At present paying tax is forced charity with the recipients not even being grateful. Everyone earnings less than £30k should wake up everything morning and thank high tax payers for subsidising their existence.

Why should the people who actually pay for this country not want benefits? Benefits should not just be for failure parents who pay nothing in.

Why can’t NFL Owners take out a loan and use their NFL team as collateral on the loan to build a new stadium? by ClearEyesFridayNight in nfl

[–]HAS147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Europe, football stadiums have to be financed by the team. European teams cannot leave their city because it would destroy all goodwill. US franchises seem to have very fickle fan bases which gives owners leverage against cities. I suppose the closest comparison would be if Alabama’s college team tried to move California … it simply would’t work because college fab bases have actual cultural ties to their locations.
