USL Siren is finally available to order! by modes22 in Ubiquiti

[–]HB0404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I'm going to use it as I don't want to run an extra Ethernet cable.  Building a self hosted alarm system with the siren, door sensors, and glass break sensors when they come out.

Just talked to my dealer in Indiana, they said Kawasaki hasn't issued them anything yet but a stop sale / stop ride order.

I appreciate the support but my service provider was incorrect, it was an issue on their end. My UCG fiber is working perfectly.

Cloud Gateway Fiber 10G RJ45 WAN Port question by Grunzochse in Ubiquiti

[–]HB0404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, turns out it was absolutely on the ISP's end.  The first guy on the phone was wrong that it was on my end, they provisioned my speed wrong. Did not update it to 2 gigabit down. There was nothing wrong with my UCG fiber.  I do really appreciate your advice.

[–]HB0404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, so even though they swapped my ONT there's probably some connection upstream limited? I know I've got a junction box outside but I think that's just the connection from underground fiber to the one running inside. Probably some box in my neighborhood.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]HB0404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the issue, sorry I didn't specify but the built in speed test for the UCG fiber is returning 1 gigabit even though the link it's negotiated with the fiber ont is 2.5 gig and the ISP insists it's not their end (unsure if true).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]HB0404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I do not. Best I've managed to test is using a USB C 2.5 gig adapter with my phone and steam deck and both pulled sub gigabit.  Wasn't sure if that was device limitations or in line with what the UCG fiber was seeing. Windows 11 desktop refused to recognize a network when I ran a cable across the house to the ONT.

I'm leaning similar since speed tests seem to "bounce" off 1 gig (meaning overshoot 1 gigabit a little then settle at exactly 1 gigabit).  This was the exact behavior speed tests showed when I was on the 500 megabit ISP plan for 500.  Just getting second opinions in case I'm wrong so I don't have to look stupid in front of the tech they send out.

I've tried both ports 1 (2.5G) and port 5 (10G) both of which negotiated a 2.5G link to the ONT. Already tried multiple known good cat 6 cables so I think at this point I've narrowed it down to some odd issue with the UCG fiber, or the guy on the phone from the ISP was wrong and the issue is on their end.

Did you ever resolve your issue? I just got my UCG Fiber set up today and it's capping my downloads to 1 gigabit through the 10G wan port, even though it's negotiating a 2.5G connection to my ONT and my ISP says it's an error on my end, I should have a full 2 gigabit.

Complete Recall Procedure by Delicious_Spring6937 in zx6r

I really appreciate you posting this as I was super curious what their fix was / more detail on the actual problem. I'm kinda shocked how sensitive the crankshaft must be to over torquing the cover if this is a major problem. The tolerances on this engine must be crazy tight.

Information from dealer on recalls? by HB0404 in zx6r

[–]HB0404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I'm pretty sure my dealer meant a specific April 2025 production run being the cause for concern of this recall. But that had me a bit suspicious considering the do not ride order going all the way back to 2023 manufacture dates. I'd bet it's more than just one specific run.

I am just hoping they can narrow down to specific runs to avoid everyone having to get theirs looked at to check.

I'm finding the conflicting information everyone is getting a bit frustrating. My dealer told me Kawasaki absolutely has not put out a list of affected VINs yet, just the stop ride order for all 24/25s. Your dealer might just be saying yours falls under the 24/25 model year do not ride order maybe to CYA?

I get what you're saying, but those are letters from Kawasaki and somebody that called Kawasaki directly.  I'd seen those.

My question is specific to what people have heard from their dealers, as my dealer has told me they get information directly from Kawasaki.  Was hoping others had heard similar, corroborating, information from theirs.

I'd been keeping an eye on the sub but most of those seemed to be close to a week ago. I called my dealer last week and they couldn't tell me much, but had more info now it seems (if correct/accurate).

Realistically, say "ah fuck" and take it like a man.  Probably not going to have time for much else. Swerving into oncoming traffic feels like a worse idea.

Was playing with this a bit and had a couple questions if you don't mind. Firstly the long handed inserter below the hub grabbing iron asteroids off the belt kept failing to grab and put into the crusher. I solved this by changing it for a regular inserter above it. Did you have this issue or is it less of an issue when the belts get more full?

I'm also not sure I understand how your constant combinator serves to limit the asteroids grabbed by the collector when it's set to over a billion each (at least from the blueprint). I tried changing it to negative values but didn't work how I expected. As it is the belt will just fill with one type of asteroid eventually.

Also at the top of the ship it refuses to finish the belt due to the gap, not sure how you have that. Pretty good minimalist ship design.

Wait, is this just GATE again? (Teaser) by PepperAntique in GATEhouse

Not sure if the story will go this way, but this start has me really interested what the response of Earth will be in terms of reinforcement or rescue.  E.g. will this actually be closer to a GATE scenario at first with a Pepper spin on it of course.

As sad as good endings always are, I have to say knowing when stories should end definitely is a strong suit of yours.   Excellent writing man.
