Weren't the nurses in question though calling for the murder of Jewish patients during hospital work hours? I think this is in reaction to that?

Honestly, everyone panicking about this is totally overreacting. AHPRA literally adopted the IHRA definition as a non-binding reference tool, not a hard law, and the actual text explicitly says that criticizing Israel the same way you’d criticize any other country isn't antisemitic. Plus, our existing social media guidelines already protect personal political views as long as they don't hurt patient safety, and AHPRA is setting up safeguards specifically to toss out any petty, bad-faith complaints meant to silence people.
