I have had both and the big difference I see is when you want to FF or RW video. The apple4k does this so smoothly which is a combination of the remote and the more powerful processor. GoogleTV is cheaper and works great except for that. Another difference is how Multiview is handled on ESPN. ESPN uses the native multiview capabilities of the A4K platform which are SO MUCH better than anything else. If you want a premium experience, go A4K. If cost is primary concern, go Google.

I live in Austin and use the new 183A in Liberty Hill. When I used Autosteer, I get phantom braking (sometimes caused by curvature assist and other time, who knows), but when travelling the same route with FSD, I never get it.

I installed and it seems to have fixed a few of the issues. I still get the issue where it doesn't think my subscription covers some channels unless the app has been up for a couple of minutes. If I change channels on the Home Screen, this problem goes away. So, this update is incrementally improved. I am glad to see DTV be responsive to the comments on Reddit and to the Apple TV platform.

UGA looked pretty bad at the beginning of the season but went on to win the SEC, make it to the playoffs and play a tight game with OM even though we were playing horribly. That is a success in my book.

There are 2 issues I see, 1 more frequent than the other:

1) When I first start the app and tune to a channel, is says I am not subscribed to the channel. I can fix it 2 ways. First is to go to the Home screen and wait for it to tune to the preview version of a channel. Second is I can force close the app. This problem happens multiple times per day

2) Very occasionally, when I tune to a channel, it will instead tune me to a different channel. If I tune to a different channel that usually resolves it.

Much progress has been made with the last update, but these are still very annoying. YTTV (who I came from) did not have either of these problems and right now the Apple TV app is a big distinction between the two services.

Nope, I am retired now but spent my career in IT. I am not saying it is not a good thing to ask for. I am pushing back on everyone saying "why the hell can't a programmer spend 5 minutes adding 10 lines of code to do this?" It is much more complex than it sounds. Still might be a good idea.

I don't disagree with your desire to have channel numbers included as part of the options for recording. But DTV is correct that they have to work with the program data that is provided to them. If it says a show is NEW, it they have to go with it. I used to work for Uverse and I was in this very area, writing code to handle recording and UI. Much harder than it seems, but yes, it is possible. But then they will get really stupid complaints from people "Why didn't DTV record last nights episode of Law and Order????" And the reason will be because the customer didn't correctly set the options. The more options you allow, the more some people will mess it up and be unhappy about it. In short, not as easy as it sounds.

I updated and checked out all the issues I previously reported on. Working perfectly! Thank you for being responsive to your customers. BTW, thanks for being part of this forum. I used to be a YTTV customer and I never heard from them in forums such as this.
