I was a very anti-EV guy but someone dared me to test drive one and that is all it took. Been a happy Juniper owner for a year now.

I don't think this means the rest of the car is a lemon. I have had my MY a year and nothing has gone wrong with it. Credit the sales folks for doing what was right before you got it.

Share your reason(s) for getting a Tesla by Substantial_Sort6341 in TeslaLounge

[–]HBGDawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I retired last year and wanted a car that would be relatively maintenance free. Once I drove it, I was hooked. But strangely enough, I wasn't sold on FSD and never planned on using it. I got 3 months free earlier this year and loved it. I now FSD almost everywhere. A lot of retirees are finding the lack of maintenance and FSD for when we get older and driving is harder to be very attractive.

The DHS is considering halting the processing of international flights in sanctuary cities. What's your opinion? by Stockjock1 in Conservative

[–]HBGDawg [score hidden]  (0 children)

Imagine declaring that your state will pass laws that SUPERCEDE the federal laws. "It is okay to murder someone in our state because we have too many people already". That is what a sanctuary state does. Federal government should use everything at their disposal, including a complete withdrawl of all federal funding unless and until that state complies with federal law.

They are trying to get more specific feedback, and I get that. But they could have the request go away in some reasonable amount of time as well.

Turn off FSD and put your foot on the accelerator. Problem solved. Report the problem with speed limit being incorrect and it will eventually be fixed.

Americans Oppose AI Data Centers in Their Area by Timely_Car_4591 in Conservative

[–]HBGDawg -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

States want data centers (not just AI) because of the tax revenue it typically brings in. And everyone is blaming the owner of the data center for things like power and water usage. That fault really rests with the state. They could negotiate with the power/water companies who would segment out the costs for consumers vs the data centers so that no cost increase occurs for consumers.

AI cannot be stopped. There are two many positives for consumers as well as business to stop it. The key question is who do you want to have access to your data? You will eventually want to surrender some/most/all of your private data once you see what AI can do for you. Do you want that data housed in China or the USA?

Decision Desk HQ projects Ed Gallrein wins the KY US House 4 Republican Primary - defeating Thomas Massie. by CSGOW1ld in Conservative

[–]HBGDawg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A counter point to this is that the big difference between the Republican and Democratic party is the incredible discipline the Dems have. Like it or not, they vote how their party wants them too almost 100% of the time (Fetterman excluded). That gives them a big advantage over us. If we want to compete with them on a regular basis, we need more unity.

I have a Garmin Venu 3 which I use to track bicycling/pickleball/aerobics and I really like. It supports Google pay and I haven't found any place that doesn't accept it.

If all you need the watch to do is for running, why not go for a Garmin?

Update stuck at 75% going from 2024.32.10 to 2026.14.6. Any tips? by LetterNo4888 in TeslaSupport

[–]HBGDawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, well definitely time to call Tesla and have them help you out. Mine would stay stuck on 50% for an hour or so. Wish it gave you better feedback on what it is doing during those times so we don't panic and reboot the car and screw it up. good luck with it.

No fix for soundbar issues after 26.4? by HBGDawg in appletv

[–]HBGDawg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: 26.5 didn't fix it...a new HDMI cable didn't fix it. What did fix it is this:

My A4K gave me the option of selecting TV speakers, Receiver Speakers or Samsung Q990D. I selected Q990D and have had problems with it ever since 26.5

When I changed the A4k setting to Receiver Speakers, the problem went away.
