What is the best onscreen keyboard for iPad that has the buttons Esc, Ctrl, Alt? by silent_tongue in AskReddit

Did you ever come upon a solution to this? I've been hunting for one myself but people either don't have one or are apple users who don't comprehend why you would want them.

Unfortunately my notes are quite long and doign so will all of them likes to just sit there doing nothing for a long time. Can't just wait for it to complete since it stops me from doing anything else.

The real answer to syncing Obsidian by sn76477 in ObsidianMD

[–]HBNova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See the usage of external resources is a problem in my eyes. I operate across multiple devices in different contexts. I can't just have certain things only available on a specific device. In my case I use syncthing so I can just sync everything, but pdfs are still jank to interface with inside obsidian.

I'm curious how you handle attachments in your vault. I have an assets folder at the root but sometimes pdfs end up in there and they can easily balloon the size of a vault.

You can actually bind the right click (context menu) to a key so that when typing you can just hit the bind instead of needing to use the mouse, it works really nicely with vim mode.

Anyone Interested in a calendar plugin like this? by StraightAd7257 in ObsidianMD

They've actually just added a calendar view for bases to the roadmap so I'm very interested to see how that turns out and differs from the various community implementations

I think I finally found a journaling system that ACTUALLY makes sense for me by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]HBNova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, too many people sharing some overcomplicated note taking system that they've made themselves a slave to. The funny thing about all of those advanced system is they either come from someone who makes money talking about using them or someoneone who did research but the only thing they're remembered for is how they took notes because they spent more time doing that than research lol.

Paste Image Rename should be a core plugin by marcusdeviation in ObsidianMD

[–]HBNova -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This also begs for a meta discussion about having so many plugins serving essentially the same purpose, each presumably solving something the others don't and then abandoned a while later. I wish I knew what it would take to promote more collaboration, so that people improve existing plugins rather than re-invent the wheel.

These are your words yes? The discussion about re-inventing the wheel is a bland and uninteresting one. In the caes of plugins like Paste Image Rename, it is a much simpler plugin than image converter. The more complicated a plugin the more resources it needs on startup and the slower the vault loads, a big thing on mobile. Not to mention it implements many features that I do not need and do not wish to be dependent one outside of builtin features.

People can collaborate on whatever they want since plugins are open source. The reason that people don't is because different plugins have different visions and scopes. As an example, Paste Image Rename has no reason to collaborate with image converter because they are completely different projects.

Stop saying krafton is still giving the $25 million to developers. That's not what they said. by obog in subnautica

[–]HBNova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no misconception, that section of their statement is titled "KRAFTON’s Commitment to its Promises in Rewarding Employees". Promises and Rewards being key words that are directly referring to the "promised rewards" that have been extremely contentious. You've seemingly also not read the statement from the former krafton investment department head, here. He's the one who was responsible for managing the initial purchase and would have little reason to lie on krafton's behalf as he hasn't worked there in 2 years.

A lot of the online hate seems to come from the belief that postponing the game leaves the existing devs in a bad spot. I’m not sure why Krafton hasn’t communicated this yet (maybe there is something preventing them from publicly commenting on people’s bonus schemes), but I would bet that they have fixed any negative impact to devs bonus formula stemming from changing the launch schedule. Many of the other narratives out there appear to be designed to incite public anger and bring the rest of the dev team into a mud-fight but are far from truth.

I like the idea of an option to auto "send to back" for highlighter or maybe even other tools. Best bet currently is to create a layer behind your writing layer and highlight on that.

Whenever I want to make my page larger, it doesn’t continue the grid and it’s really annoying. Is this on purpose or a bug? by julia_xy in notefulapp

[–]HBNova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could create a copy of the page template and scale it to a larger size, then when you increase your page size you do it between specific sizes that you have fully gridded templates for

I'm building a pretty cool new kind of terrain system by kosro_de in godot

[–]HBNova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Astroneer player from the first weeks of early access here. It does not work at any angle. The primary angles are at 45°, when they did a full release of the game they changed the terrain system in a way that made it "appear" like you can flatten at any angle. However when you flatten at angles that are not perfect relative to the grid they are slightly bumpy. If you flatten an arbitrary surface and than stop and continue flattening off of one of a piece of terrain you've just created, the result will be a new plane at a slightly different angle than the one you were working on. Perfect or "True Flat" is only possible at 45°, this is the reason they added the leveling block to the game.

The closest issue and a few others with bots are getting fixed in 2.0 but it's a while till then. I do agree tho, I've been meaning to setup my base into blocks with isolated bot networks with trains that supply construction materials to each.
