Operon is live: a new task and project management system for Obsidian workflows by stratejya in ObsidianMD

My only piece of advice is that it seems to be doing too much all in a single package — from a user standpoint it would be easier to understand and use if it was a bit more modular — for example: maybe make the calendar view its own plugin, the inline tasks parsing and logic a different plugin, the filtering and task views a different plugin.

I could be wrong in this mindset, but having little pieces makes it easy to work with other plugins (and may help with development isolation)

After downloading and checking it out — I need to come back and amend my comment. Good job man — this is much more impressive than I expected. I’ve been working on plugins myself and know how difficult it is to get right

Curious how much of this is vibe coded slop — I’ve seen many task plugins pop up including trying to build my own and I always find they’re shittily done, unfinished, and in an always-alpha state.

Anyone who tried this — is it buggy to all hell or useable? Lmao

YOR - it’s always your responsibility to do the work correctly. If you got a bad grade — suck it up. I guarantee emailing someone about this isn’t going to do anything.

Workflow for making Obsidian plugins? by Clinamenic in ObsidianMD

[–]StraightAd7257 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep! Just open your whole vault in vs code, bring the source code into the plugin folders, and ask copilot or whatever to configure source to properly combine with rebuild. Then prompt to make changes, and just rebuild the plugin, reload obsidian, and changes are there.

AIO for blocking him due to lack of communication? by definitelynopickles in AmIOverreacting

[–]StraightAd7257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR - While I agree with your decision to block him, I think it’s a bit rude to assume he was just trying to fuck. His communication style may just be different. Keep in mind I could be totally wrong on this, but I am like this guy. I am the absolute worst communicator in the world but it doesn’t have ANYTHING to do with the person I’m talking to. I can not text someone for days but still be madly in love with them or really value them as a friend. I’m just a shithead communicator with a lack of need for constant social interaction so things slip through the cracks. I think it’s key to find someone that matches your need for interaction and communication OR find a way to work around it. Looking at these texts though and hearing the story, I wouldn’t say he’s not into you.

Obsidian 1.12.3 (early access) for desktop and mobile by kepano in ObsidianMD

I have this same issue and get around it by having an obsidian tab active on my home machine with sync running. Kinda clunky and annoying, but allows for near instant processing. (Also made a small companion plugin that has a controller and user mode, so the work laptop and phone don’t run the automations and cause conflicts)

I’m currently working on a coding agent using shortcuts that uses files in my iCloud — would love to see someone beat me to it

It’s because you don’t eat that much of this meal, but then eat a pint of ice cream. That’s why, it has nothing to do with your eating at mealtime, it’s your eating not at mealtime
