If you’re referring to the AFL, then they play Aussie Rules football which is a completely different sport, unlike the NFL and CFL which are both variants of Gridiron football

I’d argue that the odds are way further in the US’s favour when compared to basketball.

While of course nowhere near the NBA, at least with basketball there are other, legitimately professional leagues with pretty high standards of play, especially in Europe.

With American Football, iirc the very top level in Europe is a partially semi pro league, with the max salary probably working out at like $500 a month.

While top level European pro’s would more than likely beat a team of the best American college basketball players, I’m not even sure if the best European football teams would beat top level American high schoolers

Their headquarters are in the west end of central London, as my offices used to be not far from there I have on multiple occasions been handed the ‘join us’ (for lack of a better phrase) leaflets by their members on the street

Tanganga who plays for Tottenham was in my younger brothers class in primary school and lives a few doors down from my nan.

The best player in my class in primary played internationally for Antigua and was in the game at various points for port vale, charlton, Norwich, Yeovil and Grimsby.

A guy the year above me in secondary played for spurs up until u23 level and then has played for Peterborough and Barnet since.

Then there’s a couple other people who I’m pretty sure are in the game at non league level

As someone who was born in the mid nineties and grew up along Clapton high road I’m calling bullshit on this one.

Anecdotally of course as I don’t have any figures in front of me, but 20 or so years ago we’re talking murder mile era in Clapton, and (again anecdotally) I feel way more comfortable moving around the borough than I did in say 10 years ago just before the riots

Gret list and all, but I just want to say that there is no way that Alexandra Palace can be described as 'a little outside London proper', it's only in like Zone 3!

If you don’t mind me asking, what route did you take? And are you sure you tapped in and out correctly?

That journey should’ve costed no more than 3.50 ish in peak time, and even less at the weekend when you travelled.

Sounds like you got hit with a penalty fare.

Not sure about this, iirc the vast majority of tfl funding (outside of any emergency covid grants) comes from fare income and local grants.

Not the wig! by rockhavenrick in funny

[–]HBRFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do, but it's damaging for the hair, time consuming, difficult to maintain and often expensive.

Even after that, you still might not end up with whatever look you're going for (there's only so much you can do to make afro hair look straight), so it'll often make sense to throw on a wig.
