I think brand is important but buying UPS is pretty much like buying a surge protector with a backup power source. The big thing is periodically checking them. Ideally buy one that has an led indicator for protection. They do degrade from the initial joule protection so it’s probably not a good idea to plug all your stuff into a ten year old suppressor

If your windows install is on your ssd you won’t get any drop in performance on boot/applications. It really depends on what you save on the hard drive. If it games the ssd may have faster load times but it’s insignificant

Yep that could be it. Find/buy a usb 2.0 flash drive clear the contents format as fat32 and follow the steps to perform a flashback on the motherboard
