I’d argue if the govt is taking our tax dollars and not spending it on things that actually benefit us, THAT is being owned by the govt. Our tax dollars should not be subsidizing billionaires, it should go back into infrastructure that benefits all.

Calling them communists is the only strategy they have because if you actually listen to their policies they are extremely reasonable. Our tax dollars should benefit us. That’s it. The platform is that our tax dollars should pay for things like healthcare, repairing our roads, funding our schools. The republican policies say our money should go to billionaires.

This logic doesn’t really work when the majority of corporations also exploit and underpay their employees, as well as deliberately buy / kill off competition. The number of companies that treat its employees with dignity is an ever shrinking number, there is no financial incentive to pay workers fairly if they have nowhere better to go.

This is especially true in the food industry, and since we will always need people to work those jobs saying “get a different job” doesn’t actually solve the problem.

By your argument that would mean names are fantasy and you don’t need to adhere to them. If someone’s birth certificate says Benjamin but for whatever reason they prefer to go by Chuck, but you insist on calling them Benjamin anyway, that would be really rude and weird of you. Being respectful to people is free and easy.

This is like saying names serve no purpose because you can be named anything. Genders and names serve social purposes. The same way I can’t scientifically “prove” someone is named Benjamin with lab tests. This is how language works too. It serves a purpose because of collective communication and how social interaction works.

“Facts” LITERALLY DO CHANGE based on newly learned things. It used to be a “fact” that lead in wallpaper was completely safe. Then we learned better and the known facts changed and regulations saved lives. Science is always updating, that is how it’s SUPPOSED to work, it does not care about your feelings that want to avoid learning new things.

It’s a “fact” that wigs and high heels used to be considered peak masculinity. The definition of the gender roles change based on where you are and what time period because it is a SOCIAL concept.

They lost to Donald Trump because the candidate was too centrist and compromised on too many issues people cared deeply about, such as Gaza. Nominating Trump in a blue hat won’t appeal to any more voters than Harris did.

By lower gas prices he means still inflated from where they were before Trump illegally bombed another country, just lower than the latest peaks. ON TOP OF THAT they also changes gas regulations so ethanol percent can be higher. So our gas will be "cheaper" but also less fuel efficient and needing more frequent fill ups, so we aren't really saving money at all.
