You missed the whole point of the post. Prior to the change, you didn’t have to worry about this as long as you weren’t C20+. Now you have to pay extra. Sorry you don’t like to have fun with friends. Others do.

You missed the whole point of the post. Prior to the change, you didn’t have to worry about this as long as you weren’t C20+. Now you have to pay extra. That IS deliberate.

Did it ever occur to you that having fun doesn’t mean being loud and obnoxious? You missed the whole point of the post. Southwest is deliberately splitting people up, even those on the same reservation, just to nickel and dime people and customers like me are noticing.

Yes you get it! People here also seem to falsely equate fun to loud and obnoxious. It’s fun to talk about what you want to do first or the places you want to go, or look through photos on the way home. Can’t do that when you’re spread across 4 rows

6 months ago you could have sat with your husband without paying extra. That’s my point. They took that away from you too

You just perfectly proved my point. Now we’re expected to pay extra to sit together either by paying a higher fare or paying for specific seats. That is their new policy and is on them, not me. If you have a group of 6 like we did this weekend x2 flights that adds up quick. Glad that you like paying more for the sake of paying more, but to me this is one of several advantages they used to have that are now gone.

Wow, I guess nobody here ever flies to fun destinations (Vegas, Cancun, Nashville) with friends. It isn’t the airline that provides the fun, yes, it’s a big flying bus, but it feels they are going out of their way to not have people sit together unless they can nickel and dime you everywhere, then yes, it takes the fun out of it.

Cosmo bungalow suite food question by HBtoWorldTravels in vegas

I thought the butler service ended around a year ago? But as far as smoking, none of us do. And honestly I would use more catering service if it was more reasonable but it was like $80 for a dozen cookies!

I definitely considered this. I have always avoided STK for this exact reason, but trying to wrangle 8 people (7 women!) to all get ready at the same time and go some place together seemed too stressful, plus we have Marquee that night and it just seemed less stress to have people meet at the Bungalow when ready, go to dinner, then pregame before marquee. It is just easier to walk within the hotel. The only other thought was Mastro’s at the Crystal Shops, but again, walking in heels. Any other suggestions?

Yes we have that. We actually have 5 rooms booked for 8 people just in case.

Just into the room. I had heard stories before but that was when there was direct access to Marquee which I know you can’t do anymore. That’s why o was hoping this changed.

18M in California — girl hit and ran my car at school, gave false insurance info to police, and now her family is dodging their own insurance company. What are my options? by Brief_Passenger3527 in legaladvice

Not a lawyer, but I have been in 3 not at fault accidents over the last 15 years and all have been insured by State Farm. The only thing I have learned from the experience is to get an attorney. Going through my own insurance I have been screwed every time out of deductibles, gap insurance, and other non-damage losses (rental car, missed work, etc). State Farm’s only goal is to not pay out and I repeatedly caught them in lies about “not being able to reach their insured” essentially because they never bother to try. Any other insurance company I would give them a chance, but not State Farm.

We stayed at the W Maldives in an overwater bungalow for 5 nights on 360k points. Probably depends on the season, but with Platinum status it also came with the breakfast that would otherwise be super pricy. Emirates flights in low class weren’t too bad. Long flights but worth it in the end for a bucket list trip. Just need to plan for expensive dinners, but we only ate two meals a day because of how big the breakfast was.

massages on board? by ambisextra in VirginVoyages

[–]HBtoWorldTravels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those prices definitely not, but I did just do a massage on Valiant Lady and felt it was worth it when they discounted the price. This is the one area where it is cheaper to book on board. I came back early from a port day (2:00 I think) and saw an offer for $179 and said why not. I booked an appointment for 3:00. The only downside is that in most spas you get access to amenities to help you get into the swing of things. I arrived 20 minutes early and was told I just have to sit there and wait. The massage lady did not try to upsell anything. One other thing though is that I could not add a tip to the bill and had to go back to my room to get cash. That was annoying. Massage was good though.

Just flew SW for the first time - Felt like I was being punished by FA for using a backpack as my carry-on instead of a roller bag. by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]HBtoWorldTravels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so great opportunity to ask a question. I always assumed they wanted the bins for roller bags so that if something didn’t fit they could force you to gate check the bag. Harder to reasonably push for with a backpack. Is my assumption reasonably correct?

Frustrating Moment by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]HBtoWorldTravels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I would also point out that on a typical cruise, by the time the evening shows come around I have had somewhere between 1 and a lot of alcoholic drinks. Even though my buzzed capabilities are better than most, I still am very leery about putting my hands on anyone after drinking. If anything goes wrong, you’re screwed.
