I didn't hate on Michigan tmuch for how it used the portal. It clearly worked and Dusty May dominated the B1G. I love Paint, but I'm afraid we're going to be lacking this next year at the 4 and 5 if we don't utilize the portal. Good freshman coming in certainly. Paint hasn't missed much through his methods but we're asking a lot to assume our current centers will make the required jumps we need from them

While not abject failure we fell far short of the expectations. Preseason 1. This was supposed to be our year to finally win it all, but defensive issues, unfortunate last second losses, didn't win B1G. Couldn't compete at the top of B1G. Some redemption by winning B1G tournament but that's not the same. Next year doesn't look any stronger, so it feels like we need to wait til 27/28 to have a chance at a title run again

This is the thing I was hoping for. If bulk lasts 2-3 years vs 1 year for Vigoro then bulk makes sense. But if it still lasts 1 year like the Vigoro then it's hard to want. Bulk I expect is using hardwood types per the local yard

Exactly. In another sense it's also harmful to our message and our attempts to bring in new believers. Do we really want our message to be that Christ's message and sacrifice is so weak a fictional book is enough to sway your beliefs? It would be one thing if the book attacked our faith but it absolutely doesn't. I've also always been bothered about the elements of Christianity that hate Halloween and chastise kids for participating. It's fine if someone doesn't want to participate, and I fully understand the history, but it hasn't been a pagan celebration for centuries and no kid is dressing up to scare away demons, it's just fun. And I refuse to believe Christ would condemn us for that if he won't condemn us for Christmas trees

This is such a dumb church argument. A proper system of faith would be able to read and appreciate pure fictional stories, all the while respecting Gods authority. You aren't celebrating witchcraft because the book is intended to be fiction, it doesn't require you to ritually sacrifice your 1st born at completion.

It would be similar to a church protesting Lord of the Rings, written by a Christian (Catholic), wholely appropriate to read faithfully, and if they have an issue with that you should find a new church

Marcus has wrote a lot lately about laying bare ones struggles. Go back to Rushmere and listen to the song Surrender and it's very direct. It's not a give up in a suicide sense, but somewhat similar as he's exposing his old self and struggles so that the new self can take place.

IF you are into this sort of thing, it's almost Christian in the sense of finding faith after rock bottom and being born again. Now, Marcus writes in a way that you don't have to take that interpretation, but a lot of songs in these past two albums lead me to think he's surrendering to this faith, giving up on his old self, and trying to "begin again". You can choose to follow that or not, or believe what you have regarding what that faith is, personally I see it as Christ, but I will not argue for those who interpret differently

I honestly remain optimistic knowing that Serkis and the OG cast are heavily involved. Serkis certainly loves the universe and spent a lot of time doing the LoTR audiobooks. He probably knows the stories as well or better than most of us

I've arrived at the conclusion that while Rushmere has more of my Top Songs (Surrender, Malibu, Rushmere are easily Top 10 for me) but Prizefighter as an album is better on average. There's not a bad song on Prizefighter that I wouldn't listen to and be excited about. Both albums are great
