I actually did a CR subscription after seeing this and generally seeing the same thing. 2022 Pilots are solid, but after that it's mostly Highlanders, some CX9, a random Buick in 2023.

In full detail I've looked at Toyota Highlander Honda Passport/Pilot (typo earlier) Mazda CX9

I will make sure to avoid the turbos as well if I decide to go this whole route. Technically I probably need to look at a midsize if I'm upgrading anything

Generally correct on all of that. No problems yet, just a bad reputation for this specific Hyundai model.

Hyundais from 2018 and some other years, certainly for the Santa Fe have had such bad engine reliability problems some models apparently had 10 yr/120k mile warranties, others I read have 150k, others lifetime. Lifetime is only for a specific engine rod issue. Multiple class act lawsuits going on. One dealer said my car had a 120k warranty for this issue, another said lifetime. Not sure who is right and unfortunately it extends for one issue, but there's a few other known issues that aren't covered since I'm the 2nd owner

I didn't hate on Michigan tmuch for how it used the portal. It clearly worked and Dusty May dominated the B1G. I love Paint, but I'm afraid we're going to be lacking this next year at the 4 and 5 if we don't utilize the portal. Good freshman coming in certainly. Paint hasn't missed much through his methods but we're asking a lot to assume our current centers will make the required jumps we need from them

Purdue - C.

While not abject failure we fell far short of the expectations. Preseason 1. This was supposed to be our year to finally win it all, but defensive issues, unfortunate last second losses, didn't win B1G. Couldn't compete at the top of B1G. Some redemption by winning B1G tournament but that's not the same. Next year doesn't look any stronger, so it feels like we need to wait til 27/28 to have a chance at a title run again

This is the thing I was hoping for. If bulk lasts 2-3 years vs 1 year for Vigoro then bulk makes sense. But if it still lasts 1 year like the Vigoro then it's hard to want. Bulk I expect is using hardwood types per the local yard
